"Where have you been?" Stiles jumped at the sound of his step sister Allison's voice as she walked out from the shadows of his bedroom, her arms crossed over her chest.

Even though they weren't related, Stiles and Allison were a lot closer than other brothers and sisters. They shared their deepest secrets with each other and helped keep each other out o ftrouble, something that Allison did to help Stiles more than he did to help her.

"I was out."

"Doing what?"

"Enjoying my last night before my senior year of high school, what the hell else?" He asked irrated as he plopped down on his bed. He loved Allison to death but her constant questions were making him feel unformortable. "Why do you need to know all of these questions?"

"Because if mom or dad comes to me and asks "Gee Allison, where was Stiles all night last night?" I'll be able to give them a good answer without having to say "Oh I don't know maybe he was partying." you know?" She asked as she sat next to him. Her brown hair shined from the moonlight that trickled through the window.

"Ugh, Alright, just don't actually tell them where I was."

"I never do."

It had only been two years since Mr. Stilinski and Victoria Argent had tied the knot and settled into their new routine, and although Stiles and Allison got along great, for some reason Stiles and Victoria didn't go as well and that caused a lot of tension in the house hold.

"I think i'm gonna get some shut eye." Stiles said as he layed down on the bed and waited for Allison to leave.

"Don't bother it's six in the morning mom will be here in thirty minutes to wake you up." She said as she stood and walked over to the door.

Stiles groaned as he stood and started searching for a fresh t-shirt and some pants. "I just can't wait until this school year is over and I can focus on college.

Allison shook her head as she opened the door and looked back at him, "Don't rush too fast through this year and into college Stiles you're going to forget a lot of things. This is your year of choices, don't screw it up because you want to get out of here so quick."

She shut the door behind her and Stiles sighed, as usual Allison was right. It's like my dad went out and married a woman who had the worlds wisest daughter. He thought to himself as he pulled off his old shirt and proceeded to put on a fresh one. There was a knock on the door and Stiles walked over and opened it, coming face to face with the sheriff.

"Stiles, you ready to go?" Stiles sighed and nodded. "Yeah dad, i'm ready to go."

"Good. And don't think for one second that you're off the hook for sneaking out last night, your mother saw you and we will be discussing that tonight at the dinner table."

Well fuck me sideways. Stiles thought to himself as he brushed passed his father. The worst part about having his father being the sherrif of their town was that he always knew his business, and that was something Stiles didn't need when he was going into his senior year.

"Yeah about that, i'm going to be hanging with Scott tonight, I told you that last week so we'll have to post pone that talk." He said as he walked down the stairs and grabbed his back pack at the foot of the stairs. Allison was sitting in the kitchen eating a breakfast bar.

"Allison if you want a ride to school then you need to leave with me right now." he said as he grabbed a breakfast bar and headed towards the door. Allison jumped down from her seat, kissed her mother on the cheek, grabbed her backpack and headed outside to Stiles truck to head to school.

"Hey Stiles! It's been a long time!" Stiles turned his face away from his stack of books in his locker and smiled as he heard the familiar voice of his best friend Scott. "Hey Scotty! How was your summer?" He asked.

Since Stiles could remember, he and Scott had been close friends. Stiles was always the one having a good time and enjoyig life while Scott was the one who was always keeping Stiles feet on the ground and his head in reality.

"By far, this was the worst summer i've ever had." Scott said as Stiles shut his locker and walked with his friend to class. Having the same schedule made it easy for them to walk slowly to class. "It can't be worse than my father bugging me about getting closer to my mom. Or the fact that I had absolutely no fun because my father is the sheriff of this god forsaken town." Scott laughed as they walked into their homeroom and sat next to each other.

"My cousin moved in with me, he's so weird and my mom wants me to get close to him, but i've never even spoken to the guy." Scott said as he sighed and the teacher, Mr. Roberson, started to call role. Stiles looked over at his friend confused, "Wait, why is your cousin living with you? Shouldn't he, oh I don't know, be living with his family?"

Scott sighed and shook his head. "This summer they had a house fire, everyone died except for him, and now we're stuck with him because we're his only living relatives. Isn't that just peachy?" Stiles shook his head. "Absolutely perfect, now all of our plans of hanging out alone are ruined by your-"

Stiles sentence was cut short as someone walked into homeroom late. A very tall student with black hair walked into the room and skimmed his eyes over the class. Stiles felt the hairs on his arm stand up and Stiles glanced over at Scott who was too busy texting to pay attention. "Scott! Who is that?" He asked nudging his friend and nodding his head towards the new student who was directed to sit next to their friend Lydia. "That's my cousin I was telling you about, his name is Derek." he said.

Stiles mumbled a response and stared at Derek for the rest of the class. There was something about the new kid that he couldn't quite put his finger on. Little did he know that Derek was going to turn his life upside down.
