As soon as i entered the restaurant i looked around for my boss and did a happy little dance in my head when i find him no where in sight.
On my way to the staff room i heard my name being called i turned around and saw Kristina making her way towards me . She works with me and has become a good friend of mine in the past two years. We both work in the same shift.
"Hey El. Sam was looking for you and he sure was pissed at you being late again " She said approaching me. If you are wondering who Sam is then for your kind information he is my lovely boss.
'note the sarcasm'
"He is going to kill me Kris . Ughh..why do i have to be late again. I just hope he doesn't fire me" i replied
"Don't worry El's. He will calm down with time, just try to not to be anywhere near him till he calms down" Kris said to make me feel better.
" I better go to change and start my work. " i said and started making my way towards the staff room.
But the universe is also against me today because as soon as i turned i came face to face with no one other than my very pleasant looking boss.
"Don't you understand the meaning of being punctual ellie. How many times i have to tell to be here at time" he snapped at me. As i began to explain myself he beat me to it saying " And no the excuse that you found an injured kitten at the side of the road and you have to take that kitten to vet will not work". How did he knew that i was going to say this? Can he read minds? I wondered in my head.
My expression must have given away what i was thinking because he started "No i can't read minds Ellie. I know this because you have already used this excuse a couple of times.
Not to make him anymore angry i mumbled " i am sorry sam. I promise this will never happen again"
" You better mean what you said because if you are late one more time then you are fired" with this he turned around and went in the opposite direction.
I then quickly changed to my work attire and started taking orders of the coming customers.
