~Eren's POV~
It was time to practice hand to hand combat training. Everyone else except for me was able to find a partner. I attempted to get Reiner's help, but then he was pulled away by Bertholdt. I went next to the fence, and sulked for the next hour. I tilted my head back and closed my eyes. About five minutes later I heard someone walking up to me.
"Hey Eren. I...I guess you don't have anybody to practice with either?" someone asked
I looked up to see who it was. My face immediately brightened when I saw that it was Mina. She was holding her hand out to help me up. I gladly accepted her offer.
"So...would you...like to train with...me?" I asked nervously
I detected a light blush break out across her face. We stepped into the ring. All of the other groups passed their sparring sessions to watch us. We entered our fighting stances, and I gave Mina the knife first.
"You ready for this short stuff?" I joked
She took a firm sprint at me. I timed the placement of my hands perfectly. As she came within my range, I grabbed her forearm, and pressed my other hand to her stomach. I lifted her off the ground, and threw her over me. Once I realized that I hadn't held back I dove under her, and she landed right on top of me.
"What's that all about?" She asked
I couldn't help but notice that our lips weren't even an inch apart from each other.
"I didn't want you to hit the ground. I'd never forgive myself if I hurt you." I said
She blushed with even more ferocity. She clearly wasn't embarrassed by my remark though. She seemed happy.
"Aww, that's so sweet of you." She said.
Mina leaned in and kissed me on the cheek. I turned beet red. Her lips were so soft, and she herself was surprisingly lite. We continued sparring for the next couple hours until we gave up from exhaustion.
"For someone so small, you can fight like Annie." I said
She sat back and blushed.
"And for someone so hard headed, you have a sweet talent with hand to hand skills." She said
I laughed it off, and then gave her a smile. I could feel myself blushing. Tomorrow we begin training for the gear.
"Mina, we should go get some rest. Tomorrow we begin training for the Omni Directional Mobility Gear." I said
She nodded in agreement, and we both arose. I made it about half way to the barracks before I blacked out from exhaustion. When I woke up it was dark. I felt something warm beside me, but it felt wonderful. I buried my face into a pillow and noticed that there was a relaxing scent to it. I didn't pay it any mind until I heard Mina's voice. I turned over to see that I was in the girl's barracks...
"Oh shit." I whispered
I shot straight up and hit my head on the top bunk. I knocked myself clean out.
