By this time, Eren and Mina have been keeping their relationship secret from everyone else. They've graduated, and are now waiting to select their branch of choosing. The city has come under attack, and now Eren, Armin, Thomas, and Mina are on a rooftop moving to assist the Vanguard.
~Eren's POV~
It was clear across Armin's face. He was overcome with fear. I put my hand on his shoulder.
"Don't worry Armin. Soon I'll be joining the Scouts. I'll drive every single Titan back into Hell." I said
Mina stepped up.
"Hey Yeager, save some for me. Wherever you go, I go." She said
I felt myself blush at this. Then Thomas stepped up to the plate as well.
"Me too. I say we make a friendly little wager. Who ever can kill the most Titans gets to have bragging rights. Deal?" He said
I felt my competitive spirit come roaring to life. A soldier from the Vanguard shot over to us.
"Cadets, follow me and support the Vanguard!" He ordered
We didn't waste any time. We shot past buildings, and skimmed across the rooftops. We were making good progress when a Titan's hand appeared out of nowhere and killed the Vanguard Soldier.
"Damn it!" I growled
I was moving to intercept the Titan when Mina shot in and sliced clean through the neck.
"That's one for me Yeagermeister!" She joked
I laughed at her little smart ass comment. I turned to look behind me, and saw an Abnormal jump for Thomas. He shot his gear into the Titan's eyes and flew behind it.
"Missed me you bastard!" He yelled
Thomas shot his gear to the nape of it's neck and killed it with one precise slash from his blades. My morale was high, and I had found myself a target. It was a Titan, ten meter class. I closed in for the kill, but as I did a Titan jumped up from the ground and bit my right leg off. I slammed into a building face first and then rolled about another thirty feet.
"Eren!" Mina shrieked
I looked up to see her moving towards me. At the same time, I noticed the same Titan prepared to go after Mina. I put my hand out as she reached out for me.
"Mina turn back!" I cried
It was of no use. The Titan's jaws surrounded her and slammed down. The only thing left of her was the arm she reached for me with. Her fingers landed between mine perfectly. Just like the first time we held hands. I began to sob uncontrollably when I heard a familiar scream.
"Armin!" I shouted
I looked up as a Titan dropped him inside it's mouth. I sprang up and shot over to him. I slipped into the Titan's mouth and grabbed hold of his arm. With one exhausting heave, I threw Armin out of the Titan's mouth. I could feel my strength starting to fade as I continued to hold the beasts jaws apart. I reached out to him for some help in return. Armin frantically crawled towards me, but my strength failed. The Titan's jaws slammed down on my arm, severing it, and I fell down into the stomach. I observed my surroundings, and noticed that some of the people were still alive.
"I....I can't...no, I won't die like this!" I screamed
Then everything faded into darkness.
