Alexandra's POV
I really did not know why I yelled at Aaron the way I did, but it did not matter as I laid in his arms. The stupid idiot thought he could hide his injury from me, I would have realized it earlier if I had not been so cross with him.
I knew something was wrong as I laid there with him, but I also knew he would not tell me at least not that night. The candle I had taken with me burned out, it did not have much time left when I first grabbed it, but neither of us moved to lite another one. The room was so dark we could not see anything and it did not matter because I was in Aaron's arms, his body rested against mine, he was there and we were safe.
His heart was beating so fast at first, but as we laid there I could feel it slowing back down to its normal pace. "You should eventually go back to your room," he said after a while.
"Not this night," I replied, I just wanted to lay there with him. "Besides I am already with your child, it is not like they can think any worse of us."
"True." I could hear his smile in his voice.
"So tell me how the attack went," I said. He took a deep breath and then sighed. After a few seconds of silence he began to tell me. "So Olivia had a sister," I commented when he finished.
"Yes," he replied.
"Well we will deal with her," I said.
"Now tell me what exactly you did over here."
I told him everything.
"But they did not hurt you?" he asked when I was done.
"Not once, I think they were ordered to never come into my cell," I replied.
"But the poor fool did not listen."
"When a child is involved men are always willing to disobey orders."
"Please do not use our child as a means to get out of trouble."
"Never again, and it was only because I knew our three idiots would need the help. And I do like that."
"Like what?"
"Our child."
"So you truly are not upset with us having a child and not being married?"
"No, Liz just got me upset and I took it out on you. And I apologize for just leaving. I know I should have told you and I know I should have gone with more help and I definitely should have gone back sooner, I should not have abandoned the guild."
"I forgive you, so stop apologizing." We stayed silent for a minute. "Alex, I love you."
"I love you too, just promise that you will stop treating me as if I am delicate."
"I promise that I will try."
"That is all I can ask for." We stayed silent for a while longer. "Aaron."
"Yes?"
"I am scared."
I felt him move. "Why?"
"We are going to raise a child, our child in this world, in our world. We have so many enemies and the guild keeps getting attacked..."
"You are not thinking of quitting are you?" I could hear his concern in his voice.
"I could never, but will our child ever be safe?"
"There are times of war and times of peace, right now it is war; there will be peace eventually."
"I suppose, but Aaron can you promise me something else?" I asked.
