Aaron's POV

I was still furious with Alex. Nothing she said right now would calm my senses. Yes, I understand her reasonings, but when she went missing durning the attack that happened weeks ago, I couldn't let it go. Ever since that day there have been mulitple attacks on the guild and parties that were out on the king's request.

I had not fully recovered, one: being in all the battles that had happened at the guild, and two: worrying about Alex. I knew I should not, but when we did not hear back from her in weeks, my stress level when up. The wound on my shoulder had not closed yet, and I was lucky not to get an infection, or to my knowledge none, I did not go to Christine for any treatment, defending the guild was my top priority.

I kept my mood sour for the entire trip to France and I kept my injury secret to everyone on board, the last thing I wanted to do was burden them with my wound. It was around sunset when we made it to the ship and left France.

It was not really that much of a sight to see, for Alex was dragged away from us by men when she boarded the ship; I had taken the liberty to tell Liz about the child and I do not know if she was as furious with her as I was, or even more so.

I left her with Alex, not wanting to deal with Liz's wrath if I interrupted. I turned to the men. "There is enough space to spread out among the ship, so claim what you want," I told them, I then looked at Jacob and the child. "You two can get checked out by the medics that are down below deck, and get something to eat." They both looked happy about that, especially the child.

I then turned and headed down below deck. I had taken the room that most isolated from the rest of the group, which was a bit of a ways under the deck.

Closing the door behind me I sighed and gripped my injured shoulder. It had grown stiff from traveling, and pained me whenever it was moved about. I took off my armor with some difficulty and looked down at the bandage. The color had grown red, and I knew it had opened again. I cursed under my breath as I unwrapped it. It had reopened again, and I pressed my hand against the wound before going over and getting a fresh one. I wrapped in quickly, and as best as I could, before flopping down on the bed. I laid on my back and stared up at the ceiling for a while before I heard the sound of knocking.

Moving quickly, I pulled a loose shirt over my head, knowing exactly who it was. "You do not have to knock," I said, wiping my bloody hand clean and hiding the bandages.

Alex entered the room, "Why did you tell Liz?" she asked. With just that sentence I knew she was upset.

I sighed. "It was the only way that I was able to get here fast enough."

"So you convinced her by telling her that?" she exclaimed angrily. I was surprised, but kept my composure.

"Yes, that is exactly what I did," I told her, crossing my arms over my chest. "It was the only thing I could think of at that moment."

"I thought we were keeping it a secret!"

"We are, only a few people know."

"No one was supposed to! Not even you!"

"Why is that?"

"Because of the way that you are treating me ever since you found out! You have always treated me like some deligate flower that is in a vace inside, not exposed to the outside world! This is making it three times worse!"

I raised a brow. "So you are blaming the child that I treat you that way?"

"Yes that is exactly what I am saying." I didn't hide my surprise as she continued. "You would be fine for me to go off on my own with something like this! You would know that I can take care of myself! I am not a ditz, I am not like other women that rely on men. I don't need to rely on you!" She was practically yelling at this point.
