I guess you could say by now I was pretty drunk. I know how to hold my liquor but i was definitely feeling buzzed. Song after song I was up dancing having the time of my life. I turn around from dancing and spot Ezekiel and Mylene dancing.
"Not her man my ass" I thought to myself joint pressed between my lips.
Suddenly I get someone grabs my arm and I turn around and see someone I hadn't seen in a long time.
Jay.
My heart begins to pound as I stand there wide eyed.
" What are you doing here? When did you get out? What the-" I scrambled for the right words and questions.
" Got out early about two weeks ago, good behavior" he shrugs while smiling wide at me.
All the anger and feelings I put behind me resurface.
" Two weeks and you just now telling me, what kind of shit is that." I say anger consuming me. I walk away not even interested in his excuses.
"Tommie! Girl quit playing" he yells and I flip him off.
I walk over to Yolanda and tell her I'm going to go. My vibe was ruined at this point.
" Be careful!" She mouths and I nod making my way to the door"
I speed walk down the street ignoring the annoying cat calls. Finally, I reach Ra's fire escape. Slipping my shoes off I begin to climb. Ra hears me and opens it helping me in.
" What are you doing back so fast? Is everything okay? Where is zeke? Did he get in?" He rambles , and I put my hand over his mouth.
" Boy slow down ! I left the club early wasn't feeling it and zeke got in." He sighs in relief as we sit on the bed. I lay back and Ra does the same.
" Ra?" I ask looking over at him, my eyes low. Ra raises his eyebrow as if says yes.
" This dress is itchy as fuck" I say closing my eyes and smiling wide.
Ra laughs and gets up and walks to his dresser. He hands me a t-shirt that says " May the force be with you". I laugh uncontrollably and hand him back the shirt.
" Ra where did you get this shit" I ask still laughing holding my stomach.
" They had a booth at the movie." He says laughing too. Trading me the star wars shirt for another T- shirt. " You left these here last time" he hands me a pair of jean shorts. I thank him and begin to take off ny dress. " WOAH WOAH !" Ra says putting his hands up and I raise my eyebrow.
I've never really been one to be shy about my body. I pause and circle my finger for him to turn around. Ra turns around slowly and I finish undressing. He turns his head slightly peaking.
" Creep, I'm done you can turn around now."
" So... how was Les Inferno." he asks playing with his hands. " Ehh.. it was alright music was good , Zeke got to dance with Mylene, oh and I saw Jay." I say avoiding his eye contact at the end.
" Jay like Jay, like drug dealer, like that Jay?" He questions eyes wide. "Yea but I don't even wanna talk about it. How was the movie I really gotta go see it." I ask him
Ra's face lights up as he tells me the whole damn movie. I stare at him in a drunken haze some what listening. Flipping through the comic book I smile at the sound of his voice.
