Peyton
"Daddy, can I please go to the mainland?" I plead with him, my wide violet eyes begging and my full lips pouting.
"Did you ask Mathew?" He asks as he reaches forward and pushes some of my shoulder length red hair out of my face.
I look away instead of meeting his eyes,"Noooo." He raises an eyebrow at me."Okay fine, I did but Papa said no." I pout again.
Daddy sighs," Okay, I'll discuss it with him."
I beam up at him and jump in his arms,"Thank you Daddy!"
That usually how it goes, Papa almost always says no and then I ask Daddy and he 'talks' to him. Unfortunately for me I've learnt that when he is trying to convince papa of something they do some really dirty stuff.
I skip out of the room and head outside, just as I go to exit the door my brother is coming in and bumps into me, I glanced up at him through thick eyelashes.
"Hey little bit." Holly grins down at me, practically everyone on the island was taller than me and it sucked.
"I'm not little," I scowl." How many times have I said not to call me that?" I cross my arms over my chest, cocking a hip to the side.
"How many times have I told you that I'm still gonna call you that?"
I huff walking past him, "Meanie."
"Love you too, bit!" Holly shouts behind me.
I maneuver my through the streets, greeting people along my way. I'm glad when I finally reach the water. My home resides directly in the middle of the island so I always have to go through the streets and tall buildings full of people to get to the water. I absolutely love the water, it's always so beautiful and calming. I always come here when I need to think or even to just relax, sometimes I wished I could see the mainland from here. Sadly, I can't, but I do get to see boats or ferries sometimes. I grew up here and this is my home, but  I know there's so much more out there that I haven't gotten to see yet. I've never gotten to go to the mainland, my family won't say why but I already know it's because I don't carry the Alpha Gene. I can't get mad at them, they just don't want me to get hurt, buy it doesn't stop me from still yearning to go. I don't know why, I've always felt like I needed to go there, ever since I was a little boy.
"I knew you would be here." I turn to see my Papa.
"Hi, Papa. What brings you here?"
"Well, Holland and Daniel and I were discussing you going to the mainland."
I perk up,"Really?"I ask hopefully.
"Yes and we decided you can go-"
I jump up from where I was sitting and jump into Papa's arms.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I squeeze him tight.
"-But.."
"But?"
"But you have to have someone strong to accompany you and guard you from any harm."
"Deal." I grin like the cat that just ate the canary.
"You know I love you Peyton, I just don't want anything to happen to you."
"I know Papa."
