Chapter 3

Peyton
It did take about thirty minutes to get there. We passed the ferry on the way to the mainland, it contained some of our pack members. The ferry is used for our pack members to go to the mainland for supplies that they need for either their homes or their shops. The humans know not to get on it and just in case we have guards who monitor who gets on the ship. Humans have always known about us and other species, most tend to just mind their own business and keep away from us.
The moment I could see the mainland I had started to bounce from excitement again, I guess it's just a thing I can't control. Daddy moved and set his hands on my shoulders to still my movements,"Calm down Peyton."
Once we had docked, Daddy and Papa hugged me.
"No you need to know that their is another pack not that far from here, so don't go to far. We wouldn't want you accidentally going into their territory. We booked you a room at a hotel near here."
"Okay Papa, thank you."
After that we part ways,"So what's the agenda?" I ask Serafina.
"First I will show you to the hotel so that you may put your bag up."
I nod my head,"Okay, lead the way."
I follow her, gazing up at the buildings in amazement and maybe staring at humans a little too long. I guess you could say I've been sheltered. The hotel was big and the room was amazing, it had two rooms connected  so it gave us privacy but if I needed her Serafina would be able to get to me easily.
"You've been to the mainland before?" I ask her as we leave the hotel.
"Yes, occasionally on my off days."
"Where's your favorite place to eat?" I ask curiously.
"I can show you if you'd like."
I nod,"Yes please."
We walk quickly and with purpose, Serafina has to slow down a couple times because my shirt legs find it hard to keep up with her long strides. She takes me into this cute little diner place. We sit in a booth and order our food and drink.
"So why is this your favorite place to eat?" I ask and she looks up from her phone where she's probably reporting to my Papa about what we're doing.
"A lot of different species come to eat here, it's really diverse and I like to see the different races interacting positively. Also the food is good."
My eyes widen,"Cool."
The bell chimes above the entrance, signalling someone entering the diner. The moment it does I notice Serafina tense.
"What? What's wrong?" I ask her concerned.
"You know that pack near here that Alpha told you about?" She says lowly.
I lean forward,"Yes, what about it?"
"Their Alpha is here."
My eyes widen, I've never met another Alpha. I mean, we've had some visit the island to discuss things with Papa but he always made me stay in my room while they were there.
"We could leave."
"No, that would just draw attention to us. He's probably only here for dinner anyways, it shouldn't be a problem."
The waitress sits our food in front of us, her eyes linger on me a little longer than necessary. Let me know if you need anything." She stays then sashays away.
I blush,"What was that about?"
Serafina chuckles,"I believe she was flirting with you."
"Flirting? But I'm gay." I say wide eyed.
"She doesn't know that though."
We eat and once we get done I stand," I have to pee before we go." She nods and follows me as I head towards the bathroom."W-what are you doing? You can't go in the men's restroom."
"I'm doing my job."
"J-just stand outside the door then."
She rolls her eyes,"Fine. Just shout if you need me."
I head into the bathroom and do my thing, as I'm washing my hands I feel a presence behind me and look up into a mirror. I gasp when my eyes meet a pair of chocolate brown ones.
I spin around, putting my wet hands on the sink behind me.
"Mine." He growls out.
