*Jack's POV*
Amanda and i both had no idea what was going on right now. One minute the 4 of them are having a small chat, the next Jason is lying on the floor with a bruised forehead and Nash running off to the bathroom.
Of course, everyone rushed over to see if Jason was alright, including us. He had a small scratch above his left eye and his bottom lip looked like it had been hit by a bus. He was okay, but he'd "had better days," he said. We helped him up, and set him down in a seat.
"Where'd Nash go?" Lauran looked around anxiously. "He ran off to the bathroom or something..." Haven trailed off. "Why does it matter anyway?" Haven nodded her head towards Jason. "Whatever," she retorted.
A waiter came over and asked if Jason could come to the first aid centre, which he agreed to. "I think I'm gonna stay with Jason for a while," Haven looked at Amanda, "I'll check up with y'all later." We both smiled as Amanda nodded, then returned her blue eyes to my attention. "So...." She let out a soft giggle, biting her lip. "Wanna skate?" I chuckled. Despite all this drama, we came here to skate- Didn't we? "Sure," she hesitated for a moment. I hope she wasn't regretting hanging out..
We walked over to the skate rental booth in silence, and asked for our skates. "Thank you," Amanda smiled at the desk lady. She nodded and walked off. She was probably annoyed we were getting skates again. Before, we didn't skate that much, we just kinda stood still, or hung onto the side. Once again, we were drowned in silence. It was more of a 'we're keeping something from each other and we both know it silence' instead of an awkward silence, actually, that was exactly what it was.
"I can't skate," she blurted. "That's great!" I replied. "What, so you can beat me or something?" She smiled. "Of course not! I suck at skating!" I laughed. She smirked and grabbed my hand, leading me onto the ice. "I thought you said you couldn't skate!" I said, trying to over-speak the music. "I can't," she said. "But sometimes, you take the things you've never tried, the things you don't succeed in, your absolute worst subjects, and turn them into your working projects- which then turn into a masterpiece." I just smiled, as we continued moved a little faster.
"Hey Johnson," she tugged me an inch closer to her. "I don't have a boyfriend." She whispered slowly into my ear.
"Oh gosh. I'm so sorry Amanda.. He didn't deserve you.. you're.. you're amazing" I looked at her with sad eyes.
"No, no. I never did. I lied to you because the truth is, I like you and I got nervous. Okay? Are you happy now?" She rubbed her arm.
"Actually, I am pretty satisfied." I smirked.
"I'm sure you are.." She playfully punched my arm and rolled her eyes.
*Amanda's POV*
There it was.
I laid it out and told him. But of course I like him, how can you not?
He's sweet, funny, smart, charming, and most of all, he cares.
I used to always fall for bad boys. Not the type of bad boy that wears a leather jacket, gets in trouble a lot, is mysterious, yet still lives his life on edge. No, those don't exist. I fell for the type of bad boys that are bad for not treating you right. Maybe it was just me, but they were all over the place.
After we thought we were getting the hang of it, jack tried something out of the blue that made us change our minds about that.
We had been going a bit too fast in the first place for beginners and he spontaneously took my hand and pulls me through his arm, spinning me around.
Bad idea. It ended with two pairs of snowy jeans, an annoyed ice patrol, and tons of laughs.
•••45 minutes later•••
I know Jack and I just met and it wasn't exactly right to do this, after I had lied to him about having a boyfriend.
"Jack," I looked at him.
"Amanda," he looked back at me, a stupid smile creeping onto his face already.
"I was thinking.." I bit my lip thinking about what to say, "do you want to maybe, I don't know, go to the park or something?" I said. "I know it's late, it's just getting kind of lame around here, ya know?"
"I feel ya." He replied. It was only about a 1/2 mile walk to the park.
We didn't talk too much on the way there, we were mostly captivated by the night sky's beauty.
"Did you know," Jack started but stopped, almost like he forgot what he was going say.
"What?" I laughed.
"Nevermind. It's nothing, it's stupid." He shook his head.
"Okay," I sighed, smiling.
We reached a green swing set and sat down next to each other on them.
The swing set creaked lightly as we both swayed back and forth.
I stopped his and my swing until we were both still. The only things to be heard were the crickets chirps and our distant breathing.
I'm not sure how it happened, but 3 minutes later, the only thing you could hear were the crickets, because jack and I's lips were attached.
It wasn't just a little, first date, peck kind of thing. It was so much more than that.
It was still sweet though. My nose rested on his cheek as our lips moved in sync. When I came out of it to look at him, I went back to kiss him, and of course being the klutz that i am, I poked him in the eye. We both laughed off about his watery eye, and continued the kiss for a while longer.
