*Amanda's POV*
I took a chip from the bowl set out on Haven's granite countertop, and swiped in in the guacamole, popping it in my mouth and letting out a sigh of content.
"Hey! Those are for tonight!" Haven scolded, as I just spun on her swivel stools. "I'm testing them," I told her prominently, as if it were an important job. "Who is coming to this Saturday night party anyway?"
"It's not a party..." Haven rolled her eyes as she placed a salsa bowl on the table. "It's a small get-together. Just some friends visiting from Arizona."
"Really? After everything that happened last night, I thought you would have wanted a Haven day, maybe an extended spa treatment, and some Taco Bell." I shrugged and popped a salsa loaded chip in my mouth.
"Faye is coming, and I couldn't be happier. I just hope you two get along." Haven took the bowl of chips away and put it in the living room.
"As long as she's not another fake friend, those who fall in love with the money rather than the person."
"You two will get along fine."
Haven's mom entered the house in a hurry, multiple grocery bags dangling from her arms. "Outta the way ladies, there's some burgers that need grillin'." She tossed the bags on the counter and took a package of frozen patties out back to the grill.
Haven rummaged through the grocery bags. "Carrots and ranch! Every party needs carrots and ranch!"
"I thought you said it wasn't a party." I smirked.
"Aw, you can be a pain in the-"
"Carrots and ranch! Set up the carrots and ranch before it's too late!"
"Okaaaay," she laughed, pulling out a box of chilled raw carrots and a ranch bottle, setting them up on the granite counter and putting away the rest of the groceries just as the doorbell rang.
"I got it!" Haven yelled, rushing towards the door. "Amanda! Go get the DVD for Napoleon Dynamite! It's in my closet!"
I nodded and went up to Haven's room, searching her closet for the DVD case. As I did so, her phone buzzed on her desk. Being the awfully nosy person I am, I couldn't help but take a peek. The message, however took my breath away.

Haven... I'm sorry about last night. I've realized that I'm an idiot and I shouldn't have overreacted like that. I get that you have to make your own choices, but I can't get you out of my head. I like you a lot, and Lauran was just a phony to make you jealous. If you feel about me how I feel about you, meet me at the park at 8 tonight. I hope I didn't spend 3 hours on this text for nothing😉I couldn't let Haven see this. I couldn't let Nash hurt her just as he hurt me. I cautiously picked up the phone and started to text him back.
To: Nashypoo
Nash, I like Jason, and that's the truth. I'm sorry but I don't feel that way about you. You're a nice guy but I don't like you like I like Jason, I'm sorry.I read it multiple times before gulping and finally hitting send. Once delivered, I deleted all traces of the messages, including a text to Nash that said, "please don't speak of this ever again to me."
"Hey! What's taking so long?"
Hearing Haven's voice I locked her phone and tossed it on her desk in lightning speed, smiling innocently. "I couldn't find the DVD's, so I look all over your desk and they weren't there."
"Oh that's okay." She dug in her closet for a bit before pulling out the DVD case. "Let's go get our small get-together on!" She raced downstairs like a little kid as I reluctantly followed, feeling nothing but worry and guilt.
What had I just done?
