Dilly's POV
My phone vibrates. I checked it.
From Nate:
Hey, I just got our schedules and I'm heading that way.. Kris just got in line to get hers. So it might be awhile before she gets there. Also, I haven't seen Jj yet. Do you know where he could be?
To Nate:
Okay, I'll see you when you get here. I'm about to get in the shower. Also, I haven't heard from Jj and he's not here either. I'll let you know if I hear from him.
I sit my phone down heading to the shower in the hospital room and come back to 2 new messages.
From Nate:
I'll let you know if I hear from him as well.
To Nate:
Thank you, see you when you get here.
I closed out of Nate's messages and opened the other message.
From Kris:
Trystan is going to Whittington now. He was talking to Nate. I hope you're excited to see him again. I know y'all were really close friends. I hope y'all still are. I'm still standing in line for my schedule and ID. I'll be there as soon as I can. I love you.
I set my phone back down. Shutting the door, I got undressed and got in the shower.
Nate's POV
Heading to the hospital with Trystan behind me. I wonder what Dilly is gonna be like when he sees him. Is he gonna be happy or sad? Wait... why would he be sad? He's getting to see one of his friends that he hasn't seen in like 4 years. I thought arguing to myself. I turn the radio on to distract myself from my thoughts.
Trystan's POV
Wow. I haven't seen DIlly since the end of our 6th grade year.
**Flashback**
It's the end of our 6th grade. Our last day before we're 7th graders. But it wasn't just the day as 6th graders, it was also the last day I'll get to see Dilly. I was heading to the cafeteria; looking for DIlly. I was going to tell him that I'm switching schools. He's a really good friend, and I didn't want to lose that. When I finally reached the cafeteria, I didn't see him at first. He wasn't at his regular table with his friends, he was at a table in the corner all by himself. I don't know how he's gonna react to me leaving. "H..hey, Dilly." I said nervously. "Hey, how's it going?" He asked. "Not so good, you?" I replied. "I'm not doing well either. What's wrong with you?" He says pushing away his tray. "Let me go get some lunch, and I'll tell you. Okay?" I say getting up. "Okay." He replies. I ruffle his hair and chuckle. I come back with my tray. "Okay man, where were we?" I asked. "What's wrong with you?" He says again. "Oh, yeah... well about that. I'm switching schools." I say, closing my eyes, praying he doesn't go crazy. "Aww, you are? I don't want you to." He says with a frown. "You don't?" I replied. "No, I don't, you're my best friend Trystan. Why would I want someone who I look up to, to leave?" He questioned me. "I never knew you looked up to me, Dilly." I said surprised. "Of course, silly, you're pretty awesome." Dilly replies. "Thank you.. Now, why are you upset or sad?" I asked. He fidgets with his hands... "Well, you're not the only person who is moving; well might be moving as well. It's only that I might be moving to a different state while you're just changing schools. I really don't want to leave my hometown." Dilly says trying hard not to cry. "Hey man, it's okay. We're still going to be really close friends. Right? That's all that matters. Is that we stay friends." I say comforting him. "Yeah, you're right. That's all that matters." He replies. "Hey, you wanna go outside? I think we both need the fresh air." I say getting up to put my tray up. "Yeah, that sounds like a great idea, Trystan." He said putting his tray up. We both headed outside to get the fresh air we both deserved.
