The Two Sides

Are we to forget what lies within us? Are we to forget everything that ever found its space in this world has always been divided into two extremes? Are we too forget that unknown within us too is subject to this? Are we to ignore their simmering just beneath the surface? When I talk about these two, I don't know exactly what they are, but a perfect metaphor comes in my mind.

Just try to imagine a dark night when you are sitting in front of a fireplace, a roof away from the raging storm. The clashing of crackling fire and the pattering of rain surrounds you, which together might--as the time goes on-- sound almost harmonious, like a siren's call beckoning you to be engulfed wholly. You know it's not right, those elements no matter how deathly ethereal they might seem are perfect enough instruments to wreck you from inside out.

The rain appears too systematical, doesn't it? Drops of water strung together following one after another going down and down. But it sounds like the beginning of chaos, though a delightful one, almost cherished.

Fire, it looks like chaos, dancing, flames parting only to merge back, reaching up and above. But the crackling, how do I explain, it sounds so orderly.

The both of these are conflicting but perfect, both equally capable of creating havoc out of a disguised heaven set up just to put you in deep slumber unknowing of what awaits.
