Half Moon

I open my eyes, and I am in a black room. Its more like an abyss, though. Nothing is here except a floor. And the only source of light is stars in the far corner.

But not like any sort of stars I've seen before. They moved very slowly, but some bounced in the other direction, like they were ricocheting off an object.

They move towards me, and when they get a little closer, I realize they are wings.

Just a little closer so I know...

I stand. I cant take this anticipation anymore. But I dont dare move.

They move closer towards me, and its her.

I drop to my knees, my head bowed.

I was actually in her presence.

I felt a hand on my shoulder, and I don't dare look up.

Mother Moon is here.

"Look up, my child. Do not be afraid of me." Her voice was as gentle and kind as the lullaby she wrote for the Moon Realm before she disappeared.

I look up, and her violet eyes are looking down at me, a smile creeping on her thin lips. Her hair matcged her wings, stars white, blue and violet swimming and bouncing around the edges.

Her simple black dress went to her ankles, her feet bare.

She helped me up, her hand so pale they rivaled white sheets. Then she hugged me.

I went stiff. She was actually hugging me. I hugged her back, but it was very brief.

She held me at arms length, a tear rolling down her cheek. But she gracefully brushed it away with a flick of her finger.

"Why are you crying?" I ask, instantly regretting it. I should have talked to her with more respect than that.

"Because of how accomplished you are. Your people love you. And how much you've grown into such a stunning image, my daughter."

I was her daughter?!?! Was I one of the Originals?!?!

"Yes, you are an Original." She smiled, kissing my forehead.

I went stiff, again. I was one of the Originals?!?! That meant she birthed me. I was hers as much as the Realm was mine.

She stared at the floor, as if she was ashamed of something.

"I stole four years of memories from you to protect you, but now I realize that my actions cannot hide the truth." She said, eyes glassy now.

"What do you mean?" I ask, watching her become more and more agitated.

She took a deep breath. "It would be better if I showed you. And I will take the pain among myself. You will only see the events I stole from you."

She took a black orb from your pocket and kissed my forehead.

"Please forgive me." She whispered before she pressed the orb to my head.

I saw me and an angel, sitting at a diner across from one another, holding our hands.

He was very handsome. Platinum hair, caramel skin, and deep brown eyes. His face was kind and fierce, willing to protect at any time.

His name was Cosmic Star. And he was the eldest son to the Empress.

Another time, we were sitting in my palace, sharing our thoughts about laws and immagrants. His mother didnt want certain citizens, and I would gladly accept them.

We were now on a hill, overlooking my realm, the sun rising and the moon setting. Half the sky was a fading purple, and the other half was a pale blue.

He smiled at me, and I kissed his cheek. We had been dating for three years now, and he was hiding something on the other side of him.

"What's that?" I ask, noticing a corner of a tiny black box.

He sighed, his eyes watering.

He stood me up, and bent down on one knee.

My heart raced. Adrenaline flowed through my veins, no sign of stopping.

He bowed his head and took my right hand.

"Will you, Half Moon and Alpha of the Moon Realm become my wife?" He asked, head craned upwards, cheeks flustered.

"Yes!" I say, nearly tackling him.

The memory faded away, and Mother Moon was on her knees, shedding starry tears on the ground.

I sit next to her, looking at her tears pooling around her knees.

"I dont want you to see any more... but I cant hide what the past has written." She looks at me, her pale face sorrowful.

"I dont understand. Everything I saw was full of good emotions." I say, watching her gently take my hands.

She shakes her head. "I took them because of the end result. I had to get rid of everything else with him in it, or you would go looking for him."

She sobs in my shoulder. I pat her head, not knowing what else to do.

She instantly stops.

"You have to leave. Now. Its almost time for the ceremony. I will watch over you, but tell no one we are in contact."

I nod, knowing it would be treason not to listen to direct orders from Mother Moon.

The room fuzzes, and I wake up on the gurney, everyone surrounding me.

"What happened? You were mumbling to yourself for over an hour." Smokescreen asks, arms crossed but worried.

"I..." I clamp my mouth shut. I can't tell anyone who I was talking to.

"Someone needed to contact me. And they couldnt by regular means." I say, sitting up and hopping off.

She never said I couldnt tell them I was talking to someone.

The ceremony. "I have to leave. The ceremony is starting in a few hours." I say, opening a portal and calling Nightshade down from the steps where he was standing.

Nightshade trotted through, and everyone followed me. Except Ratchet.

Time for Renew to Begin.
