Hey, we need to start the report.
-Melissa.

I sat down after pushing the send button. Turns out Mrs Smith still wants our report. Talk about human sentiments.

Yeah, after school tomorrow?
-Vince.

As much as I told my heart to calm down and not make a big deal out of a study meet, it wasn't listening. Excitement fluttered in my stomach and I felt giddy. I didn't even know I was smiling till I caught my reflection in the mirror in my room.

All these emotions were getting out of hand. Vince sure did things a person in a relationship would but he never asked me and as far as I remember, the last time he made it clear that he didn't want anything close to a relationship with me.

Something about me being too innocent?
I slept with the thoughts of a blue eyed boy swirling a hurricane in my mind.

The next morning wasn't anything extravagant, I wore a simple outfit consisting of a denim skirt and a purple tank top with brown ankle length boots.
I had informed mom about being late, though she seemed hesitant to give permission on hearing the person's name but our pervious conversation probably told her it wouldn't work.

"Hi!" I grinned at my group of friends as only half of them stood there.

"Mel, planning to go to the party this weekend?" Jordan asked casually, looking through this bag for something.

"Yeah, I guess so. Chelsea's hosting it, right?" Ella nodded.
"Name the devil and she shall appear." Ryder said seeing Chelsea approach.

"Who's the devil?"

"You are, sweetheart." Ella and I exchanged looks at the conversation between the two. There was something going on, I wonder if during the trip they grew closer.

"We'll talk about this." I whispered to Ella as she nodded with equal enthusiasm.
I saw Vince walking towards where we stood and gave him a small wave.
"Here comes danger." Jake laughed, having just joined our group.

"We still on for today?" Vince asked upon reaching my side and beckoning me to step out.

"Yeah, library after school?" Vince nodded throwing me a smile as he walked back.
"Hey, Cheer practices have stopped?" Chelsea asked me while walked to our lockers. Ideally, it shouldn't have but the board had come up with new goals for academics so no more alternate day practices. I had texted the girls a day before regarding this.

"Yeah, the Principal was actually insisting on concentrating on finals. Says no tournaments coming up so it didn't matter." I closed my locker," Don't tell the boys, they still practice." I added with a snicker.

"Forget that, what's the whole thing with Ryder?" Ella asked in an excited whisper.

"Nothing." Her words were a contradiction to the blush on her cheeks.

"Sure thing." I chuckled, bumping into someone.
"Hey!" The person, a little unstable yelled out, as if it were my fault. I turned around to look at the person and recognized her as Diane.
Just as I was about to help her up, she threw a scowl my way and said words that confirmed her social misery.

"Just because you're Queen Bitch doesn't mean we don't matter." I let out a laugh at her words and cocked my head towards where Jake stood with a stunned expression.

"Nice." I shook my head towards Jake still letting out small humorous laughs.
"Listen," I spat out, "you haven't seen the bitch yet. And believe me, you don't want to." I sneered at her, handing her a book that had fallen on the ground.
