Before the chapter begins, I apologize for this being late. I've been a bit busy, and then writers block doesn't help. I know what I want to do with the story, and what's gonna happen, I just need something to happen in the meantime, for smaller details. So this chapter isn't the best I've written, but future ones will be better. Regardless, I hope you like the story so far and stay tuned for future chapters. ~TNT

Upon returning to the hospital room, Jerome found that Charlotte had left. Mitch, of course, was still unconscious. The bandages on his head and arms had been changed, and the monitor had different readings than before. He hoped they were good. Jerome sat down on the edge of the bed and looked at his friend.

Mitch was still terribly pale, he had cuts and bruises all over his body, and his hair was messed up and slightly dirty. Jerome brushed the hair out of his face and tried to flatten it down. The only sound in the room was the beeping of the heart monitor. The sound of his best friend's life.

"I don't know if you can hear me Mitch." Jerome began, taking Mitch's hand in his, "But I know you'll wake up. I know you will make it through this, we will, together. Please wake up Mitch...Please..." He gripped the Canadian's hand harder, fighting back tears.

He heard shoes clicking on the tiled floor, and looked back to see Charlotte standing in the doorway.

"Mitch's family are here to see him." She said. Jerome nodded and stood up. Mitch's mom and dad rushed into the room to Mitch's bed. His mom was crying and his dad had his arm around her. Jerome decided to give them some privacy, so he said hello and left.

Jerome decided to go for a walk around the city, he knew that there was a little park not too far from the hospital, so he went there. He sat down on a small rusted swingset, there was no one else around. He sighed and dragged his feet in the dirt, thinking. Should he tell the fans? He felt bad, he hadn't even thought about them until now. He supposed that he should, they would start asking why Mitch wasn't uploading soon, and they deserved to know. But he would wait first, maybe Mitch would wake up soon, and he wouldn't have to tell them until it was over and things were fine. He doubted it, but it didn't hurt to hope.

Staring out at the little park, he felt strangely calm. It reminded him of when they were little, and they used to play together. The sun was setting, painting the sky beautiful pinks and yellows. He sighed and got up, intending to walk around some more until darkness came. Before he could do anything, he felt his phone buzz in his pocket. There was a text from Mitch's phone, he assumed it was Charlotte.

Where did you go? We have to stop letting visitors in in about 20 minutes, get back before then if you want to stay in the room for the night. -Charlotte

Jerome rolled his eyes at his forgetfulness. How could he forget what time visiting hours were over? He quickly headed back to the hospital, he should be able to make it in time it wasn't that far.

Jerome checked the time on his phone as he approached the doors, he made it back with five minutes to spare. He headed inside and checked in with the lady at the desk, telling her he was planning on staying the night again. The place was eerily quiet at night, no doctors and nurses rushed around from room to room, most of the patients were in their rooms getting ready to sleep for the night. Some sleeping for more than the night. Jerome thought as he entered Mitch's room. It was quiet as usual and the lights were dim. Charlotte stood by the monitor checking Mitch's blood pressure and heart rate. She finished up and turned to him.

"So you will be staying the night again then?" She asked.

"Yes, I will be." He replied, sitting next to the bed.

"Alright, that's what I figured you would do. His parents are staying in a hotel across the street, since there's only really room for one extra person to stay in here."

"Okay." Jerome said, absent mindedly tracing his fingers along Mitch's arm. Charlotte moved to the door and turned to smile kindly at the pair over her shoulder.

"I'll see you tommorow then."

Jerome sat on the window ledge leaning against the wall, looking at his phone. People had started to notice that Neither Mitch nor Jerome had uploaded any videos in two days, with no warning.

Hey, did you guys take a vacation and not tell us?

Come on doods where's the hunger deans?

Why haven't either of them uploaded?

They stopped uploading at the same time? Hmm... some merome things going on? ;)

It seemed people were confused about the sudden stop with no reason, he figured he should tell them what was happening. He would make a vlog tomorrow and explain everything. For now however he needed sleep, he curled up with a pillow and blanket on the ledge.

When he woke up there were already people in the room. Hushed voices spoke quickly behind him, and he opened his eyes to investigate. The light nearly blinded him for a second, he blinked and rolled over to see Mitch's parents talking to Charlotte and Eric. Charlotte noticed he was awake.

"Ah, good morning Jerome." She said, and Mitch's parents turned around.

"Good morning." Mitch's mom said, smiling at him. "Sleep well?"

"Yeah I guess... as well as you can sleep on a windowsill really." He sighed and stood up. "I'm going to go grab something to eat quick and come back up." They three adults looked at each other.

"After you come back we need to discuss something." Mitch's dad said. Jerome nodded and left.

Jerome got back to the room and they began talking. As much as they wanted to stay with their son, Mitch's parents could only stay a few days before they had to go home. So they asked if Jerome would stay at the hospital, or at least close by, so someone would be with Mitch when he woke up. Jerome agreed of course, that's what he had planned on doing anyway. They were relieved. After everything was sorted out Charlotte had some medical records to go over with the Hughes, and she wanted to fill them in on what exactly happened to Mitch.

Jerome sat by Mitch while they left to talk about things, he decided to read to him. He scrolled through the books on his phone until he found one he wanted to read, eventually he decided to read a few chapters of 'The Hunger Games'. Jerome had no idea if Mitch could hear him, or if the reading mattered at all, but when he read to him he felt better. He felt like Mitch was just sleeping, and everything would be fine.
