Will We Last?

King Ben cried in Fairy Godmother's office as he held Queen Mal tightly. The barrier was officially closed and that was supposed to be the end of it....but it wasn't....

No one seemed to know how to fix Mal's unstable condition. It was like Fairy Godmother had said: "I'm not sure how long she has, but once her powers give out...she will die..." Everyone was traumatized by everything that had happened. The people of Auradon, however, knew nothing of Queen Mal's condition, as Ben didn't want to have any reporters around the castle for this grieving process.

The VKs tried to cope with everything. Evie went home to be with her fashion designs, Doug, Eva, and Douglas. There was nothing more she could want, right? Carlos went home to Jane, Fiona, and Cameron. Still, his was very simple. Jay went home to Lonnie and their 3 sons: Jonnie, Jayden and Leo, and future baby girl. What more could the VKs worry about? Well, besides the fact that their best friend is dying.

And then there was Mal's husband. Ben. Son of Belle and Adam (or the beast as you all may know), King of Auradon, father of 2 going on 3. It was definitely hard for him to cope. His Queen was dying, he had 2 children to raise possibly without their mother, the 3rd child might not even make it; he had a kingdom to run, and school to top it all off.

Belle and Adam saw how Ben was struggling. They encouraged him to take a few days off and try to calm himself down over so much stress, but, he couldn't respond. Ben forced himself to shut away the rest of the world.

First, it was just the occasional, skipping school and not being around friends. Then, not seeing his parents (unless they forced their way in), missing meetings and kingdom work. Next, it was even coming out of his room. Yes, Ben had locked himself in his room for too long. Sometimes, if he really felt like it, he went to the hospital wing, where Mal's body lay completely still.

Whenever he was at the hospital, he sat on the edge of Mal's bed and cried softly. He wouldn't leave for several hours unless the doctors came to run tests on her early. And whenever the doctors asked him to go, sometimes, he wouldn't leave at all. He would stay put. Then, of course, his parents would have to come in and drag him out while he was kicking and screaming like a little boy.

Nothing seemed to cheer Auradon up. Belle and Beast both figured after awhile, until Ben gets better, they would serve as temporary King and Queen again. The only question is, while Ben ever get better again? And what will happen to Mal?

Hello, everyone! Welcome to the 4th book in my Descendants series! I am so excited for this book to finally take off! Thank you all so much for reading my series, I truly appreciate it!

Also, I apologize for taking so long to update, I was busy with school, swim, and then I got sick over my birthday a few days ago. But, now I'm all better, and I'm on Spring Break! 💐 I will try to update more next week hopefully it won't take as long as the first chapter did.

Anyway, hope you're all excited for the 4th book: Will We Last?
