Ben and Mal were already at the edge of the barrier while Jay, Carlos, and Evie were close behind. Ben got out the remote for the barrier, and held the button as the magical bridge began to form. The other Core Four members reached them just as Mal became pale. "Mal!" Ben yelled. "What's wrong?" Mal couldn't form any words, but showed a wisp of blue magic from her fingertips. The light was fading, and that could only mean one thing, Mal was losing her powers even more!

"We have to get her to FG," Evie stated. The boys and Evie carried Mal all the way back to Auradon Prep, into Fairy Godmother's office. She was quite distressed when they barged in without knocking. "What is going on here, children?" Carlos and Jay laid Mal on a nearby couch in the room, while Ben and Evie told her what happened.

"What can we do, Fairy Godmother?" Evie asked softly. FG pondered for a moment. "The one thing that can bring back her powers is the Horned King's skull. It has the power to release magic into the one who needs it most. If we don't get Mal more magic, she will die." "But, can't you give her magic FG?" Carlos asked. "Oh, no. My wand isn't strong enough to grant Mal enough power." "It's settled then. We'll go to the Horned King's palace and get the skull," Jay added. FG gave them a map that had a thicket, river, and a palace of thorns.

FG wished them well and kept an eye on Mal as they began their new quest. The plan: get the skull, save Mal.

Hey guys. Ok, first off, I want to apologize for not updating this book for a long, long time. This is an extracurricular activity for me, and I haven't been able to do it for a while. Also, I get stressed from all the pressure about getting chapter after chapter done really fast. I know it's unfair to you guys, and I am going to try harder to update more, but right now, the chapters will come out when I have time. Hope you are all doing ok during this unusual time in our lives. Honestly, I am really bored. You probably will see me more updating soon since I really don't have much class stuff like before. Anyway, just wanted to get some stuff out of the way. See you guys soon!
