Bittersweet reminders of the night consumed Gina's thoughts leaving her with a feeling of satisfaction as well as a feeling of dread. She could tell it was morning but Gina feared opening her eyes at the risk of seeing Knox - at risk of facing reality.
She had slept with him not only once but thrice in one night and although it had brought back a feeling of nostalgia, Gina knew this was the present and her actions compromised everything she had told herself she would go against. It fûcked things up
more and what for? For fûcks sake?

She silently cursed herself but knew that deep down, she couldn't trade the night she'd have for anything else. She felt completely satisfied - relaxed even - and always knew Knox was the only person capabale of doing that. Her buzzing and sensitive body gave reminder to that.

She attempted to move but noticed something heavy anchoring her to the bed. Her heart plummeted, her head swirled when she realized it was Knox's hand that was across her waist. Gina suffocated a groan and briefly closed her eyes, knowing she couldn't really move until he did.

But she was about to throw caution in the wind and get up and face her new reality when she heard a phone ringing. Judging by the monotonic ring tone, she knew it wasn't hers, leaving Knox the sole owner. The bed moved as he rolled off and picked it up.

Gina felt as the bottom of the bed dip with his weight. "Hello sweetie, how are you today?" he asked, voice surprisingly sweet, the fact causing Gina's stomach to churn.

It was his mystery woman again, she realised, continuing to listen with sorrow slowly ripping at her.

"Yes hon, I promise you'll see me soon... I miss you too....I'm not sure but yes I'm OK..." he laughed after, a rich pure laugh erupted from the pits of his stomach - unlike anything Gina had ever heard. "Yes, I love you too pumpkin..."

Thinking she'd heard enough, Gina bolted from the bed, clenching her jaw and trying her utmost best not to cry.

"Listen, April baby, I'll talk to you soon, OK," Knox said, disconnecting the call and grabbing Gina just as she was about to flee the room.

"Hey, hey, what's wrong?" he asked, searching her face.

"Don't touch me!" she argued, pulling away to set herself free.

"Gina what's going on?" he asked and she shook her head, unable to fathom his actual nerve. How dare he stand there and pretend he was a fucking saint?

"All this time you've been accusing and insulting me on my sex life and you are no better. At least I'm not a hypocrite -"

"What the hell are you talking about?!" he demanded crisply.

"Don't act like you don't know, Knox!"

"Is this about the phone call?" he decided on asking. Her silence gave testament to his words. Knox, completely gobsmacked and at a loss for words, only stared at her, seeing where the misinterpretation might have stemmed from.
