Niall Has Amnesia?!? Book Two

Chapter 1

"Niall Horan, 18 year old popstar, is said to have woken up from a coma. We have been told that this teenage heartthrob is suffering from total memory loss. It is a condition called amnesia. Now the doctors are not sure which type of amnesia this is, but they say that it could very well be permanent. This is said to be one of the many side effects this young boy has from the plane crash that happened just a week and a half ago. This is all of the information that has been shared by Niall's family and close friends for now. Back to you Barbara!" The lady newscaster says from her place right outside the Dublin hospital before she gives it back to the weather news.

Bobby turns the television off after the whole room falls silent. Hearing the news twice just makes it even worse. They just needed to make sure that the news were not going to spread lies and rumors. They didn't need that right now. Yes, Niall Horan does have amnesia. It's a pretty bad case too. It would have been a miracle if Niall didn't wake up with the condition.

Amnesia is a shortfall in memory that is caused by brain damage, disease, or psychological trauma. The memory could be wholly or partially lost depending on the extent or damage to the brain. There are different types of amnesia that people can have. While everyone was deep in their own thoughts, Niall having fallen to sleep, the doctor walks in quietly.

Bobby stands up and walks towards Doctor Henry and greets him. The rest of the room coming to once the man in the white coat starts talking. Harry also asleep next to Niall. The two of them sharing the bed. It was a bit awkward for Niall because, to him, Harry is a stranger. You don't usually let complete strangers to sleep in your bed. Niall had fallen to sleep just minutes after waking up. His body having been too tired to stay awake very long. No one was able to start talking to him.

"Well, hello everyone. I just got out of the screening room to look at Mr. Horan's brain damage again." Doctor Henry informs them as he gestures for everyone to take a seat. There were only a few chairs, so many had to stay standing. Doctor Henry sighs a very deep and slow sigh. "I'm sorry..." He pauses and watches as everyone's once hopeful faces fall to one of sadness and despair. "From what we have seen him do and heard him say, I am so sorry to tell you that yes, Niall has amnesia. Not just any amnesia. He is suffering from retrograde amnesia. This type of amnesia is where the person, who has had a severe case of damage to the brain, cannot remember anything from before waking up in this room. He cannot remember anything prior to this day. He also may have another type which is called anterograde amnesia. It is where he cannot make new memories. We do not know if he has the latter type for sure, but it is safe to assume he has it." The doctor finishes. The whole room silently crying because they may never get to see the once vibrant, happy Irish boy they knew.

"Will he ever get his memories back? Is it possible?" Louis asks as tears stream down his face. Heartbroken for both his mates. They didn't deserve to have to go through this. It just wasn't fair. The doctor stares at Louis and looks to be thinking hard. He hesitates before speaking.

"Yes, I think that it is possible, although, that is a very very slim chance of it happening. With how bad his brain was injured, I am surprised he isn't brain damaged. I just wish that I could have given you guys better news. It would be rare for him to come out of this state. I'm sorry." He informs the family and friends slowly.

"How- how can we help him overcome this condition? Is there anything we can do?" Liam says, trying not to break down in front of everyone. He just has to be strong. He's currently holding Louis while the latter sobs into his chest. What sane person would not be devastated about this. The whole world broke apart when the newscaster told them the condition of the Irish boy. Niall may never be the same. The doctor looked at Liam and then looked around the rest of the room.

"There is something. I suggest showing him pictures and videos of his life and things like that. I have seen miracles that way. Sometimes it taps something in their brain the triggers their memory, so try that. Don't give up. Most important, just be with him. This is going to be a very scaring and confusing time for him. He needs someone to be there for him." The doctor concludes. He looked like he wanted to say more, but the family has already been through a lot that day. Maybe he will tell them later. But no, that didn't happen because Gemma saw that in his eyes. There was something he wasn't telling them. Doctor Henry looked ay Gemma after feeling someone staring at him. She gave him that look that said "please tells us" and he sighed for what seemed to be the tenth time in the last hour.

When he sighed, everyone looked up at him. By his facial expression, they knew it wasn't going to be good news. "What more can you say about Niall. He's already been through so much. Can't that just be all?" Maura says. She has little hope left for her son to recover. She wants to say that she will always hope, but it's kind of hard after everything the doctor has told them.

"Because he has amnesia, he won't know who he is. He most likely will have a different personality. The Niall you know may not show again. Only time can tell. I'm sorry." He then turns around and walks out the door to the the rest of them think and let everything the man told them to sink in. Niall is just in very bad shape and might not ever recover.

Everyone looks at their Nialler. They may never have their Nialler there with them ever again. Niall then starts moving and fluttering his eyes until they finally opened and stayed that way. He looks around at all of the unfamiliar faces staring at him. He blushes from the attention that he is getting. He feels like he's not used to all eyes on him. He then furrows his brows when he sees a boy in his bed sleeping next to him. Who are these people? Where am I?

"What's going on?"

Any suggestions for the story would be great. I kind of know whee I want it to go, but suggestions are always nice to have.
