Astro and Wonderman Book 4: Awakening Magic

I don't want to become a monster

(Astro's point of view)

We all got ready for the competition and headed to it. I froze when I saw four faces there. Drew, Obsidian, Obsidious, and Leo were all there.

"Hey, isn't that all three of the really powerful guys that's caused a lot of trouble in history so far?" Wonderman asked.

"Yeah. Drew is powerful too. We shouldn't underestimate any of them" I said.

Wonderman nodded and said "You gonna be okay?"

"Don't worry about me. Besides, I'm fine. I'm over it, that was forever ago after all" I smiled as convincingly as possible.

Then a guy walked by us and when he walked by me suddenly I got this feeling of dread and sadness. He held a book to his hand as if his life depended on it.

He stopped for a second and turned around to face me. He had long dark blue hair and a hat with bangs that covered his eyes.

"Have I seen you before?" The man asked.

"N...no. Not that I know of" I said.

"You sure?" The man asked.

"Yeah" I said confused. I'm pretty sure I would remember meeting someone like him. Then it hit me. Standing before me was Daniel. A person who has the power to bring any character to life just by reading about it in a book.

"Tell me what is it that causes you to have so much free will Astro?" Daniel smiled. He walked away shortly after that not giving me much of an opportunity to answer his question.

"When did I tell him my name?" I asked.

"You didn't" Wonderman said just as confused as me.

"Didn't think so. And what did he mean by that?" I asked.

"I'm not sure. Maybe you should keep your distance though. I got a bad feeling about him" Wonderman said.

"Welcome to the competition of the ancients. So for the first day we will have two one on one battles. The time limit is five minutes and the person with the most magic energy wins the competition winning there team some points. The team that wins the most points will then get to be excepted into the ancients" a girl announced.

"The first round is Christa vs. Katie" Michael said.

"Well this will certainly be interesting" Christa said then.

Then a girl with sharp teeth smiled and says "It's almost as if I'm famous even though my day hasn't arrived yet"

"It's my day, not yours" Christa said then.

"We saw see. However wins this duel gets in on the treasures. Although you should know I'm having to hold back a little bit on my power quite a lot. So just because you win this duel doesn't mean you'll win a duel against me later. In your defense there's only a select few that can though" Katie said.

Then they both transformed and the timer began.

"Lighting bolts of heaven" Christa said then.

Then a streak of lightning bolts appeared in the sky and headed towards Katie but then she barely moved away from her magic. There was something strange about the way she moved. It seemed faster than humanly possible. Then again her teeth were shaper than a humans too. However the last of the vampires should have disappeared years ago. There was just something about the situation that seemed odd. Suddenly I noticed a mark on her hand though. It was small so you had to look closely to really see it and then I noticed my hand started to glow too and so was Wondermans. Then it hit me. she wasn't Katie at all. She was Katheryn and she'd somehow managed to the able to survive the time skip even though Angelia and Dekingnain should have taken care of her. What if they didn't have that kind of power though I wondered.
