"RENAEEEE!!"
"What?"
I call back to Marie as I walk in the front door of our dorm.
"Can you hand me the ice cream?"
Marie is in her pj's, eating gallons of ice cream, and watching The Fault In Our Stars.
"You don't need anymore!"
"Yes I do!" Marie argues.
Okay, what's wrong?" I ask her as I come and sit by her on her bed.
"I saw my mom in the hospital today, they told me there is nothing they can do." I look into her eyes, all I see is sadness.
"You need to come meet her."
"What?"
Why would Marie want me to meet her dying mom?
"Cause Mommy G loves everyone, and wants to meet you cause of all the things I have told her about you."
I just laugh, "What did you tell her about me?"
"That she will love you, so tomorrow you will meet Mommy G."
"Is that what I need to call her?" I ask.
"Yep, any friend of mine is a friend of hers."
I just laugh, Marie just looks over at me and smiles.
Life isn't always about the giant life changing moments, it's about the small moments that make you smile a little bit brighter.

"Renae meet Kate, Kate meet Renae!" Marie is inducing me to her little sister Kate before we go to see her mom.
Kate looks just like Marie, beach blonde hair, and bright blue eyes. But Kate is very athletic she plays soccer and basketball. You can till she is jock just by her clothes, legging, t-shirt and Nike sneakers (but for sports not like mine).
"It's so nice to meet you!" Kate smiles.
"It's so nice to meet you to!"
I look over at Marie and she looks pretty excited.
I am nervous to their mom so fingers crossed she likes me.
"Okay Renaeee, tell me about yourself." Kate says while we are riding in the car to the hospital, Marie is driving, and Kate and I talking in the back seat.
"Umm I don't know, there is not much to say."
"Whatever, she's an AMAZING artist!" Marie calls
"Awesome! Are you an art major?" Kate asks.
"Currently no."
"GIRL YOU BETTER NOT LET MOM-NESTER WIN!!" Marie screams.
"Why are you so fired about this?" I question.
"Cause baby, whether you like it or not, you're a part of my family now so-"
"Yeah you are!" Kate interjects.
Now Marie and Kate are arguing about something but I am not paying attention. I am just gazing out the window, thinking.
Is Marie and Kate right about my art? Obviously mom doesn't even care about me because she hasn't called me since I left. What I am supposed to do? Why I am obsessed with this random guy? Again. I will say it. I am losing my mind.

"MOM!" Kate and Marie cry once we walk into Mommy G's hospital room.
You can till that Mommy G loves pink, cats, Kate, and Marie just by looking around her room.
Since there is nothing the doctors can do for her anymore they got her a room to get "comfy" in.
"Hey my girls." Mommy G just smiles at them. There is so much joy in her eyes despite her situation.
I can see where Kate and Marie got their looks from. Mommy G has these same bright blue eyes and award winning smile. Sadly she has no hair, she looks maybe 90 pounds, she looks like you could break her by hugging her.
"You must be Renae, the girls have told me so much about you."
"All good things I hope."
Mommy G just laughs. Kate takes a sit on the floor close to Mommy G's bed, Marie lays with her on the bed, and I just stand over her.
"Only good things I promise." We all giggle. "So Marie tells me you're amazing at art. Why aren't you majoring in it?"
That's the question isn't it.
"Well," I start to say something but I just feel so nervous that I stop. Kate and Marie are looking intently at me, I don't know what to say. So I just wing it.
"It's just my parents want me to do something else. I don't know," I sigh.
"Darling what's wrong?" Mommy G just looks up at me with her kind blue eyes.
Is that how mother's are supposed to look and talk to their daughters?
"My parents-" I try to say something but then.
Boom. I am drowning in my own tears again. But Mommy G, Kate, and Marie listen to me and comfort me.
I am not used to this. Annabel would never do this and mother would never even be caught showing that she loves me.
"You gonna be okay Renae?" I nod my head. I dry my tears and stand up.
"Oh my gosh I have to go I have to get ready for work."
"Just know you can always come by darling, I would love to see you." Mommy G mentions.
"Don't worry I will." I beam. I hug all of them then I leave.
Once I get in my car I finally realize it's already 4. Oh crap I am going to be late for work.

"Right on time Renae." Maggie declares as I run in the coffee shop.
"I know," I quickly jog in the shop and go behind the counter.
Thankfully Phillip isn't here yet so I just work fast but try to act natural. Once Phillip enters I am the one working, and Maggie is sitting on her butt. "Maggie, get to work like Renae." He barks. In response to that Maggie gives me the death glare and starts working.

Tonight it seemed like everyone was coming at the same time to get coffee. It was so jammed and we were short handed so it was a disaster.
"Here you go sir, have a wonderful day!" Maggie said while rushing around handing everyone their coffee's.
"Sam!" I cried when she walked in the door. I am so happy to see her because today is her day off but she must have heard how packed it is.
"Hey babe." Sam rushing behind Maggie before Philip even notices.
"Oh come on!" Maggie cries in frustration, me and Sam just laugh.
