"Hey Ethan, these are my best friends: Cammie, Marie, and Sam." Ethan is wearing black dress pants, a collared black and white shirt, and gray dress shoes. He looks really nice very sharp and he's in his wheelchair.
"It's so nice to meet you all." Ethan smiles.
"It's so nice to meet you to." Cammie grins.
"Be sure to take care of my best frien-"
"Okay we gotta go." I ran out the door.
Before I could take it back I grabbed Ethan's hand.
"You look so beautiful Renae." I brushed as he opened the door to his car.
"Do you need help?"
"I got this." Ethan's car is a beat up old van, but it's big enough for his wheelchair in the back, and have enough leg room in the front.
"You sure you can drive?"
With that question Ethan gave me a "duh" look then responded:
"Renae I have enough feeling in my feet to drive, just not my legs, and hips. That's why some days I can wear crutches I have them special made, like my car."
"Oh I'm sorry."
"Don't be." Ethan shined his sparkly smile then just like that, be headed to the museum.
To my surprise; Ethan is a really good driver.
"So Ethan,"
"Renaee."
"Tell me about yourself."
"Okay well," He paused in thought.
"I am sure you are wondering what my accident." I nod then he looked over at me, and continued:
"I was driving one night my mom and sister Anna home. Out of nowhere a drunk driver hit us. Anna and mom only got bruises and scratches. But since the car hit on the drivers side, I was paralyzed."
I nod my head. The look in his eyes was so depressing.
"I am so sorry Ethan."
"Don't be. I was going to be a pro football player but since the accident I realized I am a pretty decent writer."
"Is that what you want to major in?"
"Yeah and I have seen your art, that's what you need to major in."
I sighed.
"What's wrong?" He gave me a look of concern.
"Well you see.." I proceeded to tell him the story of my unsupported parents and sister.
"I am sorry Renae."
"It's okay."
"Well here we are." We pulled up into the parking lot. It is so crowded, Ethan had to park in the back.
"Stay." Ethan commended. He got out of the car, got his wheelchair, came around to my door, and opened it.
"Ethan, you know I can open doors right?"
"Oh course I do, what kind of a man would I be if I didn't open yours." He flashed his million dollar smile, I laugh.
We walked around the art museum for about three hours. It was so much fun. We talked and just had a blast. Ethan, he's...Ethan. Ethan pulled up to my building where my dorm is. He opened the door for me (again.)
"Thanks so much Ethan, I had a great time."
"Me to. Can I see you again soon?"
"Maybe." I laughed and he joined in with me. Out of the blue he grabbed my hand and kissed me. It was actually a long kiss. My first kiss.
