Chapter XII

With thousands crowded in for the opening night of Busan International Film Festival 2012, the BIFF had proved to be the largest and most important film festival in Asia.

And Goo Hye Sun's movie PEACH TREE will be featured in the 'The Present Time of Korea, Movies under Vision Category.

Hye Sun, wearing a skin colored mini dress by Missha, matched with a small diamond  earrings, was preparing to walk the red carpet. She was nervous and excited at the same time. She knew how big and important this event for her as a director.    

But the tense was gone the moment she walked that elusive red carpet. Screaming fans were shouting her name. They were shrieking like crazy.

'Hyesun! You're so beautiful! Unnie Hye Sun!'

Goo Hye Sun's radiant white complexion matched well with her mini dress. She looked stunning in the red carpet. The press people couldnt get enough of her. She was asked to  pose in different directions and angles, and Hyesun delightly obliged, waiving and smiling to everyone.

'Goo Hye Sun's looks so elegant in that dress. She looks like a princess! She just put on a little make-up and with that 4inches heels, gurl, she stands out for me!' One of the anchors covering the event commented on her.

And somewhere within the island resort area, someone felt so proud and happy watching Hyesun from the internet connection in his mobile.

Daniel Choi, was aware that the Asian Film Market is growing slowly, and the world is beginning to recognize this progress. He was aware that the festival was a great opportunity for Korea's emerging young film-makers. And he knows how important this event to Hyesun. 'To her Hyesun'.

Daniel smiled at the thought.

Arrivals of some of Korea's big names in the entertainment industry continued while Daniel was busy talking to his manager and getting ready to walk the red carpet too.

And when it was the time, Daniel with his masculine smile, looked dapper in his tuxedo. And just like with Hyesun, fans went wild on him too. Daniel was ecstatic. He was happy, not only for the honor to attend such prestigious event, but he was happy because he came to support Hyesun. To prove to her how much he believes in her talent. Because he cares for her happiness.

It was the second day of the festival, Hyesun just attended the 'outdoor greeting' alongside some of the leading actors and directors of Korean Cinema and and some European artists at the Hareundae Beach in an outdoor stage in BIFF Village, Hareundae. She was already in her car on the way back to her hotel when she received a call from Daniel.

'Hey..how was it?'

'Hmmmmm....it was good! The audience were really nice and very welcoming. And I was able to meet some visitors! I should have practiced English with you!' Hyesun grinned.

'Even if you dont talk, you'll charm everyone. I am still mesmerized with you!'

'tst! crazy!...I wish you were still here..' Hyesun added sweetly.

Daniel laughed at her. 'Miss, I was there yesterday. Isn't that enough? you miss me that much?!'

'Yes yes I miss you so much I cant get enough of you!' Hyesun muttered sarcastically.

'But really....thank you...It means a lot ot me...you..attending..Believing in me...'

'Always Hyesun, always. I always believe in you. So bear that in your mind okay? You're one of the greatest talents Ive ever seen. All your work only show who you are as an artist. You have no idea how great you are.' Daniel said thoughtfully.

Hyesun knew that Daniel was being sincere, he has always believe in her. Even before they started going out, officially. He has always been his No. 1 fan, aside from her family. He brings out the best in her.

'so..where did you put the painting I gave to you last time?' Hyesun suddenly asked him.

'Which one? the one you gave the day we made up?'

'yeah..'

'the first painting you gave after we...kissed?'

'yah! you always bring it up whenever you have the chance! Aish!'

'why not! It was our first k..'

'DANIEL!...yah!'

'oh..that painting...I must have put it in the storage room.......Im not sure..did I bring it at my parents' house?....or probably its still in my car' Daniel trying to annoy Hyesun.

'Yah! I did that in front of a genius! my mentor was watching me closely while working on that! I was under his scrutinizing eyes when I did that!..To think.... I w-was thinking of you when I was working...ungrateful git!

Daniel was fighting not to laugh now. He enjoys it so much when he gets to annoy Hyesun succesfully. He likes the way she gets back on him.

'I put a lot of hard work in that painting' Hyesun continued to complain.

'Its in my room.'

'I will never gi...r-really?...its in your room?'

'Yeah. you havent seen it there, coz you dont want to enter my room! Its the first thing I want to see when I wake up everyday...'

'r-really?'

'yeah,...... although I'd like to be able to wake up next to you too.'

'YAH!'

Hyesun and Daniel spoke for an hour. They were laughing most of the time. Min An, Hyesun's friend and coordinator was watching her friend happily. 'She looks really happy' Min An was thinking.

Hyesun felt a little embarassed when she hung up the phone. She realized that she was being watched closely by her friend.

'Err...Was I too noisy?' Hyesun asked shyly.

'And you're blushing too!' Min An teased her friend.

'S-Sorry..got carried away..Daniel was soo annoying!'

Min An smiled at her friend. 'And Im really happy for you Hyesun'

'You are? d-dont you think Im getting myself...I dont know!'

'What? are you doubting again? Hyesun, you cried so much, too much that there were no more tears to shed. You tortured yourself too much and Daniel stopped you from doing so! I am genuinely happy for you.'

'Daniel...Daniel gives me a sense of security...I dont feel, like I lack a lot of things..I dont feel incomplete when Im with him..He makes things, whether nice or bad, acceptable for me, he makes everything easier for me...I feel like I dont need to prove myself a lot when Im with him...and we laugh a lot too..'

'you mean, its not heavy..its not stressful..like a normal relationship....unlike..'

'Min an...please stop comparing...its n-not fair..there are a lot of things going on with h-him' Hyesun said quietly.

Min An took a deep sigh. Although she could see that Hyesun was genuinely happy, sometimes she couldnt help but to worry for her.

'Is h-he still calling you?

Hyesun shook her head.

'Argh! Im starving! let's have some dimsum later ok?' MIn An changed the topic deliberately. But deep within her, although things seemed to be normal and quiet at the moment, she knew that it would never be like this all the time. Hyesun's upcoming filming overseas for PCAP, and her schedule is full for the next months ahead. And the one thing that worries her most, Minho's return.

Because she was certain, that Minho would never give up that easy.
