Darkness. Darkness consumed everything. Fire bled through the city streets in the distance like blood bleeding from a wound. Everything had perished. Everything thing had been burnt and every last civilian had been killed. The large nation smiled to him satisfied with what he had done to this once beautiful country. Belarus was nothing but a waste land now, filled with fire, death, and darkness. Belarus was the country he hit the hardest, it was the cause of his anger and rage, now as he watched it burn he could feel some of his rage sink away. “China.” Another smaller nation apprenticed. “Belarus wasn’t found here, nor has Ukraine been found.” He informed him. China’s brow furrowed as he came to realize what happened. “They escaped?” He asked just to clarify; he could feel the rage resurfacing. “Yes.” The nation said in his usual calm and monotone voice. China clentched his fist, he turned to the nation as all the rage and anger burned in his eyes. “Japan, we shall press on those two couldn’t of gotten too far!” He ordered letting his anger and rage get the best of him. “But, we are right on the border of Russia what if he brings his troops to attack us? The odds would not be in our favor with what we have brought to attack these smaller and weaker countries.” Japan said as he assets the situation. “Russia won’t know anything! His troops won’t reach us in time anyway; we will go through Latvia and Estonia and straight into Finland and Sweden.” He said. “If the two didn’t run into Russia then we will get them there.” He added his hatred obvious. Japan nodded not wanting to anger China anymore then he already was. As Japan walked away China turned back to admire what he had done to the country of Belarus, although it didn’t bring back the same satisfaction that it once did. “I’ll kill you for taking him away from me.” He growled under his breath.
Belarus sat in one of the tent that the Sweden and Finland’s troops had set up to make a make shift hospital to treat those wounded on the battle field. Ever since the Russian troops had arrived to help the battle had been raging on for what felt like hours, but as Belarus glanced at the clock every five seconds she came to realize that maybe only half an hour had passed since her brother’s arrival. Canada entered the tent and walked over to her. “China’s troops have started to retreat!” He declared in his quiet voice, it was now cheerful and happy as it once was before this war had started. Belarus stood up instantly, “where is Russia?!” She asked wanting to see her brother. As if on cue her brother raced in and took her into his arms and held her close. Belarus kissed her brother and wrapped her arms around him, he kissed her back. Their kiss was filled with sparks, passion, and love. Canada watched the two for a moment a smile on his face; he then slipped out of the tent to give them their much needed and deserved moment.
Russia broke the kiss for a moment, his breaths uneven. “I was so worried.” He admitted letting his true feelings bled through. Belarus looked up at her brother, shocked at what she thought she saw were a few tears coming from his eyes. “I thought I lost you, I thought….” Belarus placed her index finger on her brother’s lips. “I’m here brother, I’m here you’ll never loose me because my place is by your side and no matter what I will stay with you.” She told her brother as she wiped one of the few tears that fell from her brother’s violet eyes. He smiled happily as he starred down at her. “I love you, Belarus.” He told her as he gently brushed a strand of hair out of her face and tucked it behind her ear. Belarus just smiled, happy to have her brother in her arms again. This moment, was perfect and Belarus wished she could just stop time and stay like this for the rest of her life.
Why? Why?! The question ran through his head a million times as he and his troops retreated. Why her and not him! Why don’t you love me? Why! He wanted to scream to the world his frustration and anger. He had tried too hard to make him fall in love, and he had. China was positive about that only, he never did admit it. He never said anything along the line that had love remotely in it. China’s fist clentched, it was all her fault wasn’t it? He asked himself as he began to search for a reason why Russia never expressed his feelings toward him. Belarus is the reason why all this happened, she has to be! Why else wouldn’t he love me, why else would he leave me, why else?! China let out a sigh as he began to shake with rage. “I will kill her. Belarus will be no more!” He declared as he and his troops continued to make their retreat. The next time this battle would become nothing but blood, the snow would be painted red with the blood of his enemies; everything would be red.
