Ssurel: Daughter of None

Part 3

A month or so passed. Ssurel had Raditz laid on a blanket on the floor playing with him. She smiled and would tickle his tummy, Raditz would smile and giggle. "You're such a happy little boy huh?!" Raditz squealed. "I love you! Yes I do! I love you!" Ssurel giggled at the adorable noises Raditz made. Pretty soon Bardock came home. Ssurel looked up, "Hey how was work babe?"

"Tiring."

"Wanna talk about it?"

"No."

"Ok," she smiled, "Hey I finally got your son to laugh and smile at me."

"That's nice honey." He said setting his back on the table.  He sighed.

"Baby what's wrong?" She asked picking up Raditz and standing up.

"I've just been thinking is all."

"About what?"

"Us,"

"What about us?"

"We have a baby now," he said, "It feels like everything is going by so fast."

"We just had Raditz and it's been 20 years into our relationship. If anything it's not moving fast enough."

"No but I-"

"Are you sure you're feeling ok?"

"Ssurel!"

"What?!" Raditz started to cry, "Damn it Bardock!" She started to bounce Raditz softly and pat his back, "Sssshhh there there, everything is gonna be fine."

"I don't love you anymore Ssurel." He said bluntly. Ssurel froze.

"Y-You What....."

"I never have loved you. I only wanted you so I could get to Gine. She's the one I love, we've been mates for quite sometime now-"

"How long...." she said tears swelling in her eyes.

"Since she became an adult."

"So for ten years.....ten years you've been lying to me?"

Bardock nodded. "So tonight I'm leaving, and I'm taking my son with me."

"No. No you're not going anywhere with him, he needs me."

"Yes I am." He said, "Gine has always wanted a child, but we found out she can't have any children."

"So you're just going to take her sister's child?! What kind of sick mind do you have?!"

"It wasn't my idea it was hers."

Ssurel's heart dropped, her face went stone cold and pale. "It was...." Bardock nodded.

"She said that if you could get pregnant then she would want the baby."

"But you ca-"

"Yes, I can." He pulled out a paper from his bag, "Me and her went in front of the council today. As of tonight Gine and I have legal ownership of Raditz." Tears shed from Ssurel's eyes, they fell quickly and dropped onto the floor.

"No....."

"You have until tonight to say your good byes. Then I'm leaving with him." Bardock sighed, he then walked into his and Ssurel's bedroom to pack his stuff. Ssurel's heart races, she slowly cradled her baby boy in her arms and looked down at his sweet innocent face. He opened his eyes weakly, he squealed and then smiled. This shook Ssurel and shattered her heart.

"Oh baby boy," she sobbed, "You're so sweet and innocent....you don't even know what's going on." She held Raditz close to her as she cried. No words could possibly describe her tears and the sadness she was going through. Ssurel suddenly heard whispering in the back of her head.

"Ssurel...." the voice said. Ssurel stopped crying, she looked around, "Ssurel," the voice came again.

"Who's there?"

"No one you know, at least not yet."

"W-Who are you?"

"Just a friend." The voice said, "Don't worry, you'll meet me when you start going under. By then you'll be 47. Good bye Ssurel."

The voice vanished, Ssurel was alone with her baby boy again. Ssurel looked down at Raditz, she almost started to cry again. She fought back her tears, "I can't believe he's taking you away from me." She sat down on a nearby chair. Crying. Night came too soon for the mother, as Bardock came to collect his possessions. Bardock took the baby from Ssurel and then left without a trace. Ssurel broke down crying on her bed, her world had completely fallen apart. Anger, jealousy, and sadness ran through her mind. But then something else crossed her mind, she ignored it again. It came again and again. Could it be true? Yes. Murder.
