Chapter 16

Nico's POV

I walked drove home from school on my motorcycle. I felt this weird feeling. Something dark was stirring. I could feel it. My soul shivered. I was heading towards the eye of the storm. I was riding fast. I felt free with the wind in my face. I was heading home. Somewhere I was loved. 

I was nearing the house. The darkness was growing. I could faintly see the tendrils wrapping themselves around the house. I felt danger. I ran in to help my friends. 

"I'm here what wrong!" I yelled while bursting through the doors. 

"Nothings wrong death boy," Leo said. 

I looked. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. All that was new were two kids that looked similar. They dressed in black and had black hair. The power was coming from them. A chill went down my spine. I must have been staring. 

"What are you looking at punk," the girl said. 

"No..no...nothing," I stuttered.

Thalia must have sensed the uneasiness in my voice and my body language. 

"Nico, can I see you for a second?" Thalia asked. 

We walked out of the room. 

"What's up with you? You're acting strange," she stated. 

"I'm scared. I've never felt this much dark power since I was in Tarturas and I'm scared!" I replied. 

I could feel the tears forming in my eyes. I never wanted to go back to Tarturas. It was awful. It reminded me of how alone I truly was. The coldness was creeping up my body. It was a feeling I knew too well. The feeling of power that came with pain and loneliness. 

"What do you mean da..dark power?" she stammered. 

She was trying and failing at hiding the point that she could feel it. 

"I know you know. It's them they are demigods and they are VERY powerful," I said, "They will make good allies but even worse enemies." 

"Yeah, I sensed it. That's why I brought them here," she said, "but they didn't seem that powerful to me. I just felt a dark presence." 

"Well, we need to get them to camp right now," I said stressing the now part. 

I ran back into the room. 

"Guys! Get what you need we need to get to camp KNOW," I yelled. 

"What? Why?" Percy asked confused. 

"What? You can't sense it?" I replied. 

"Sence what?"

"There power you, idiot! Now move it!"

They scrambled around trying to find their weapons and changes of clothing. About 5 minutes later they were ready to go. We walked into our backyard and through the gateway to CHB. I found out their names were Noctis and Nox which Jason explained to me was Latin for night. They both were confused on what we were talking about. So I explained. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Their faces were priceless.  

"Is that why so many strange things happen to us?" Nox asked. 

"Probably, we each have stories that we can tell you later," Leo said. 

Just for a second a hint of sadness came across Leo's face but as quickly as it came it disappeared. We walked into camp. We walked straight to the big house. We walked up to Chiron. 

"Wow children you must not scare me like....," Chiron trailed off, "What do we have here? Maybe a child of the big three? You do seem quite powerful." 

"I guess we will find out tonight at the campfire. Maybe sooner," Annabeth added. 

Annabeth's POV

We were sitting in the Posiden cabin and Percy seemed troubled. I think it had something to do with someone being more powerful than him but I don't know. I wanted to know so I did then only logical thing and asked. 

"Percy, what's bothering you," I asked. 

I expected him to avoid the question but he answered right away. 

"I feel weak compared to them. I mean they have this very powerful presence around them. Like nothing, I have ever seen. Wait on second thought I have felt this kind of power," he trailed off. 

His face turned dark and his eyes became distant. 

"Where?" was all I asked. 

He gave me a simple answer. 

"Tarturas," he said. 

Now I know why he seemed troubled. I kissed him to make him feel better. 

"What was that for wise girl?" he laughed. 

"It was supposed to make you feel better. Did it work?" I asked. 

He didn't use words to answer. He took my face in his hands and kissed me. I deepened the kiss. Our lips moved in sync. My hands made their way through his black messy hair. He had me pinned against the wall. He was just about to take my shirt off when the door opened. It was Leo. I looked at Percy and he blushed.

"Wow guys, I came here to tell you that the campfire was about to start not watch a Percabeth makeout session," He said laughing. 

"Wait, Percabeth?" Percy asked. 

"When you combine your names together you get Percabeth," he said, "get it?

He walked back out the door and we followed. Percy was still blushing and I probably was too based on the smile that was on Percy's face. 

Thalia's POV

We were sitting around the campfire when Percy, Annabeth, and Leo walked up. Based on the look on Leo's face and a blushing Percy and Annabeth Leo probably found them making out somewhere. It was still not dark yet but we started the fire anyways. We were hoping to get Noctis and Nox claimed soon. 

All of a sudden the night went dark. All you could see was the campfire, the moon, and the stars. The moon was brighter and bigger than I had ever seen it. There was a dark figure with a black glow surrounding her standing in front of the moon. She was very far out so you could only see her silhouette against the moon. I turned to Noctis. There was a black veil with a moon and stars on it. She had been claimed but it was a sign that I had never seen before. I looked at Nico for an explanation. His face said it all. He went pale or as pale as he could get. He seemed to be in shock. 

"Nyx," he muttered. 

Noctis was a daughter of Nyx or the night. Everyone went silent. The fire itself seemed to stop moving. She just looked around and put her head down to try to avoid the attention. All of a sudden the moon and stars disappeared. A mighty gust of wind came and blew out the campfire. We were in complete darkness. About 5 seconds later I became aware of a faint glow. I turned and saw a black veil above Nox's head. The only way I could see it was because there was a soft glow like moonlight emanating from it. Nox had been claimed. 

Again I looked at Nico. This time he looked downright terrified. He looked like he was about to bolt. 

"Erebus," he muttered, "the god of darkness." 

Poof. The fire came back and it was dusk again. I looked around at all of the surprised faces. Chiron walked up. 

"After this, I would advise you to go back to your cabins. I need to talk to Noctis, Nox, and the ones who brought them," Chiron boomed. 

We all headed to the big house.
