Cooper's POV

The week had passed almost uneventful. I was new to the school and I was already being bullied. That girl Amanda was so annoying I can't stand her. Every time I was near her or was too emotional weird things started happening. Books would throw themselves across the room, pens and pencils would fly, and the best thing was Amanda's appearance would alter. Her makeup would smudge and her hair would completely go haywire. It was weird but I don't care. I just had to make until the weekend which should be easy since today is Friday.  I was in my last class was marine biology which I didn't want to take but it was the only class left. This was probably my favorite class because I actually had a friend. He was the first person I met at school besides Amanda. He was actually the one who rescued me. We had gotten closer and he told me about his friends and the girls that came before Amanda, Victoria. By the way, he described her I could tell that I didn't like her. The bell rang and I got up and was heading out when Percy stopped me.

"Hey, Cooper," he called, "Do you want to come hang out with me and my friends at my house?"

"I guess. My dad doesn't really care what I do and I can't ask my mom because she died," I replied.

I lived with my dad and my mom died when I was little. I don't even know what she looked like because for some reason that was no trace that she even existed. It felt great having friends.

"Sure," I responded.

I left the school and left with Percy. We walked to his car. I was amazed because his car was expensive. As we drove we chatted some. In about 5 minutes we pulled up to this tree covered drive. It seemed like it was a long drive because I could not see the house. We drove a little while longer and the house came into view. The house was huge.

"What job does your parent have!?!" I exclaimed.

"I'll tell you later," was all he said.

We pulled into this huge garage that had a few cars and even more were following suit. We walked through the door that led from the garage to the living room. The inside was even more amazing than the outside. We walked to the sofa and sat down.

"What do you want to watch or play? We have every movie and game you can think of," Percy asked as he turned on the TV.

"Um... what about Finding Nemo. That was my sister's favorite movie before she disappeared about a year ago," I replied.

"I'm sorry. I know it hurts but it will get better. I get used to things like that but instead of going missing they die..." he trailed off.

After that, we watched the movie in silence until all of his friends got into the living room. They all looked pretty serious so I think they had something to tell me. I have this talent where I can read emotions pretty well.

"Cooper we need to ask you something," a new guy said.

I hadn't noticed him until now but he had curly ginger-colored hair and wore a beanie.

"Does anything weird happen around you or do you see weird things?" Percy asked.

Silence.

"Well... now that you mention it," I said sheepishly, "never mind you won't believe me."

"Trust me we will," Percy responded.

"Well when I get emotional things start flying and I was walking down the street and I saw this horse flying through the air," I said.

"OK, that means that our hunch is right. Do we tell him now?" Thalia said eyeing me.

"Yes, I'll start," Percy said.
