Also, Vote and comment please guys, It really encourages me to write more! Now enjoy! My eyes nervously scan the merch that hangs from a metal grate on the wall. it's all beautiful, that's something that I can't deny. I shuffle my hand to my pocket. Pulling out the eighty dollars straight that I brought. I glance back up at the merch and make my decisions.
"Can I please get the hoodie, the tour shirt, and the I Met You When I Was 18 shirt please? In smalls." My eyes drift back to the blonde boy as I speak. I notice how tired he looks, with this being the last day of tour, he, and the rest of the crew, must be completely and utterly exhausted. He nods his head confidently and gets to work, sifting through boxes of clothing to find my size and the items that I want. He comes back a minute or two later, holding up each article for me to examine. After deciding that they will fit fine, he hands me the merch and I hand him the money. Suddenly curious, I ask his name."Sam," he replies, a lopsided grin on his lips. I can tell that he's going to speak more, but the girl beside me grabs his attention and starts to order merch. With a small shrug, I move off to the side and wait for the other three to go through and order merch. Regan is the first to emerge, he arms carrying many pieces of fabric, which had probably been her plan from the beginning. Soon, Zack and Simon join us. We all wait at a set of double doors for, not very long even, before we are told that we can head down. We are lead through a black light illuminated hallway, turning any white clothing that we are clad in, a blue-purple colour. To us, it's the best thing, and we dance, jumping around and joking as we walk down the stairs. The security guard leads us through another set of double doors, allowing us to enter another large room.
All around are illuminated lights and spray painted walls. The whole room looked like something out of a grunge/ hipster movie, but the lights just really added to it. There's a bar area and a wall completely covered in mirrors. We move to the back of the room where a couch that hugs the wall, waits. The four of us crash down onto it, taking up every inch of the comfortable seating. I lean back, sighing as I'm finally off of my feet for once today. Regan seems happy as well, sighing as she stretches out. A few people move about the room, setting up chairs and making sure that everything is in order for the Q&A and hang session. They only sold around ten VIP tickets per show as Ari wanted the VIP experience for this tour to be up close and personal, which was something that I understood and respect. His I Met You When I Was 18 tour in 2018 had many VIPs at my show, and even though he upgrades venues, he wanted to enhance the experience. I was surprised that I was even able to get tickets, but then again, I was ready to buy them the minute that they went on sale. We begin to make idle conversation, the group of us four introducing ourselves to other people that walk into the room. Eventually, the room is filled with all ten people who bought VIP, all of us chatting, laughing, and getting along. To be completely honest, I half expected the whole atmosphere to be awkward, all of us making small conversation with our few friends, but that just was not the case at all. As the room fills, crew members begin to file in to help out. I notice Sam saunter in with a smile on his face, speaking with a taller man with brown hair. I hum quietly to myself, smiling at the scene. A few gasps across the room has me pulling my gaze from the two crew members, landing it on Ari, who walks in with a large smile on his face. Absentmindedly, I pull Ari's coat further around myself, wondering if he would see me, recognize me even. I seem to contradict myself as his gaze turns my way and lands right on me. His smile widens, if it was even possible, and I return the gesture.
"Hi guys, happy that you could all be here," he speaks, eyes still on me. I break the gaze and glance around the room at the others who look at him in awe. "Are you guys ready to hang out and jam a bit?" A chorus of 'yeahs' fill the room and my ears. Ari takes a seat directly across from our small group, resting his back against the backrest of the chair.
"Let's start with some questions, shall we? Let's break the ice!" He's ecstatic, maybe because it's the last show of tour, or maybe because he's meeting some more fans, I could never really be sure. I shuffle in my seat and Regan speaks up from beside me.
"How was tour?" It's a simple question, but Ari seems to get a boost of energy from it.
"Incredible, I'm so happy to be ending the tour off here in Colorado. It's been incredibly beautiful so far. All throughout tour I got to see so many things that I never thought I would see and I've met so many incredible people." His eyes flick to me as he says the last bit and I blush. I know that I'm 'just the girl that got his coat' but to be sheltered from the rain in such a way, it made me even more happy to be a supporter of his, just to know how kind he is to those around him."What's one food that you can't get enough of?" My eyes drift to a girl with dyed bleach blonde hair, her fake eyelashes batting. She's beautiful, and those two things are about the only fake things about her. She wears a simple blue tank top and ripped jean shorts, though she pulls the look off better than I could. I self consciously look down at my own outfit before looking back towards Ari, trying to to dwell on things too much.
"It's been chicken tenders since Arizona last year, but papaya salad is also pretty good." He lets out a sigh and I glance back at the girl. Even though she seems like a real fan, the question alone was something she should have known already if she was, in fact, a true fan. Zack scoffs from beside me,, glancing down at me for a moment.
"If she was an actual fan, she would have known Ari's love for chicken tenders." I nod my head, satisfied that he was thinking the same thing as me. As I think, words seem to catch in my mouth, and then I find myself speaking them."What's your favourite drink to get from Starbucks?" I must look like a racoon, my eyes wide in shock at myself that I pushed through my shy barrier and spoke, asking a direct question. Ari chuckles a bit, running his fingers along his chin. Out of the corner of my eye, I can see Regan begin to look faint. A giggle escapes my lips.
"Definitely an Americano with soy milk and ice," (Ari's actual fav coffee I'm-) I begin to smile, glad that he thought it a serious question. We go on like this, people bouncing around questions and chatting with Ari, for a good fifteen minutes. We have a mass group discussion surrounding movies and the billboard music awards before we are interrupted.
"Alright everyone, it's time for the meet and greet portion, if you all could make a line over here, Ari will start meeting you guys." People are up quickly, but Zack, Simon, Regan and I hang back chatting about the conversation period. We settle at the back of the line, relaxed and comfortable.
"I feel like there are a few fake fans in this VIP session," Simon comments, glancing over at a group of girls near the front of the line.
"I mentioned that to Jason earlier, everyone that knows Ari, knows about his love for chicken tenders." I shrug, eyes scanning the room and locking with Ari's. My heart rate begins to speed up and I pull away, looking at the group and turning my back to the singer.
"Who knows guys, what I know is that we are here, right?" Zack lays an arm across my shoulders, doing the same to Simon and somehow reaching Regan.
"You're right, let's make this night count more than any."
