The next morning was, as predicted, hell for Poe Dameron. He woke up being watched by an amused Jamie Solo whilst his head pounded like a million drums on the wings of hundreds of X-Wings. He'd expressed that Jamie, who just laughed him off. She eventually got him out of bed (Toni's bed, not his own) by promising him something she'd never uphold.

Jamie handed Poe over to a group of snickering pilots and rolled her eyes. She left the hangar to the sound of laughter and shouts from the pilots, and wincing from Poe. She smiled, it was the sound of family, of community.

Jamie walked down the corridor of the main bunker to the command room, she'd been summoned by the General. as she walked the halls, some officers stopped and saluted, other rolled their eyes at her, only to avert their gaze when her piercing eyes looked in their direction. Jamie didn't like being cruel, but power was power and the only way to assert yours was to make yourself feared. She approached the doors and, when they opened, was only slightly surprised to see her brother, uncle, and some other recruits standing with her mother.

"General." She greeted politely, earning her a stare from both Ben and Luke. The rest of the padawans seemed unfazed by the exchanged, as they probably didn't know who she was. "You wanted to see me." Leia sighed slightly before gesturing for her to approach. Jamie relaxed slightly and moved forwards, the judging gaze of the padawans provoking her to send a quick glare back at them. Some recoiled, most remained still but their expressions changed. Luke shot her a warning look, but he was ignored.

"High Commander Solo, I'd like you to meet the padawans." Leia said, a weary smile on her face. Ben was definitely the oldest of the group, he must've been about nineteen by now, Jamie noted. She didn't quite understand where she fitted into their business, however. "Padawans, High Commander Jamie Solo." Leia said, pausing for dramatic effect. Jamie nodded her head once at them. "My daughter."

Jamie cringed inwardly at the words, it was unnecessary to tell them that. Her words had some effect though, many of the padawans looked from Ben to Jamie, putting the dots together quite quickly. Jamie took that as her que to speak, and smiled as kindly as she could in Bens direction.

"Shorts." She said, the old nickname resurfacing. Ben didn't acknowledge it, and didn't reply either, so Jamie continued. "Padawans, it a pleasure to finally meet you." She said, remembering one of her mother's lessons in diplomacy: always acknowledge your entire audience as if they were above you. Jamie glanced at Luke, his posture hostile and rigid. "How may I be of assistance, General?"

"The padawans are staying here whilst Luke heads off to check something, I'd like you to escort them to their chambers." Leia said calmly, noticing Jamie's eyes flare as she realised she was being tasked as a babysitter. "I trust no one more than my own flesh and blood to protect them at all costs, especially with Black Leader in the state he is in." Word gets around fast, Jamie smiled to herself. She took a brief breath in, before nodding her head.

"Anything else, General?" She asked with a slight edge to her voice. Leia shook her head and the padawans began to fidget. Luke turned to face them and Jamie could see his expression, but she guessed it was severe as they all ceased moving instantly. Appart from Ben, but he hadn't moved in the first place. He was the perfect Jedi padawan, Jamie thought venomously.

"That will be all, High Commander." The General replied in the same calm manner as before. "It's good to have you back." She added in a whisper, as Jamie began to leave. Jamie quickly instructed the padawans to follow her, said a brief hello to Luke, and led the padawans out with Ben at her side. Some padawans tried to talk to her, mostly questions about being Bens older sister, but she glared at them and eventually they took the hint. When they arrived at where Jamie assumed they would be staying, she paused for a moment before she left.

"It's good to see you, Shorts." She said, looking at her brother. He fought off a smile and the padawans behind him looked on in awe that someone could talk so casually to him. She raised an eyebrow at the adoring padawans before turning her attention back to Ben. "Try not to kill them." She joked.

"It's good to see you too, Jay, and I promise I'll try not to kill them." Ben said, turning and heading to a bed near the car wall. Jamie sighed and decided to leave them to settle in, the sudden realisation that she abandoned everyone hitting her like a ton of bricks. She closed her eyes as she reached what Toni had told her was her chambers. She opened them briefly to find her way to the large bed in the centre, and stared at the ceiling.

The ceiling was created using shards of a kyber crystal, which Jamie didn't ask where it was from, and the mural was originally in her families bunker about half a mile away. The shard created an image of an angel which looked to the sky, a sword in one hand, a book in the other. She'd grown to hate it, as it embodied the 'knowledge is power' approach her mother had, and was tempted to request to change the book to another sword or a blaster. Maybe later.

That's all she ever said, nowadays. Maybe later.
