Erik was a very sweet man. He was alway so polite and caring towards me. After we had dinner we decided to go back to the opera house. He said he wanted to play something for me.
"Christine come with me."
He said gently grabbing my hand.
"Where are we going?"
"My office."
As we walked into his office i admired how big and beautiful it was. There was gold ceilings and statues. As I looked around I saw his desk and then a piano.
"Do you play?"
"Yes. I also write some music."
"That's amazing. I have always loved music."
"Would you like to hear me play?"
"Yes."
"Night time sharpens, heightens each sensation
Darkness wakes and stirs imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defenses
Helpless to resist the notes I write
For I compose the music of the night
Slowly, gently night unfurls it's splendor
Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender
Hearing is beliving, music is deceiving,
Hard as lightening, soft, as candle light,
Dare you trust the music of the night
Close your eyes, for your eyes will only tell the truth,
And the truth isn't what you want to see,
In the dark it is easy to pretend,
But the truth is what it ought to be
Softly, deftly,
Music shall caress you,
Hear it, feel it,
Secretly posess you
Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind,
In this darkness which you know you can not fight,
The darkness of the music of the night
Close your eyes start a journey through a strange new world,
Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before,
Close your eyes and let music set you free,
Only then can you belong to me
Floating, falling, sweet intoxication,
Touch me, trust me, savor each sensation,
Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in,
To the power of the music that I write,
The power of the music of the night
You alone can make my song take flight,
Help me make the music of the night."
I suddenly then felt extremely tired. I felt my legs give out then two strong arms caught me. I knew it was Erik and I felt him carry me to my dressing room which was only down the hall. He laid me down and gently kissed my forehead. I felt so safe in his arms.
"Erik wait."
I said tiredly.
"Yes Christine?"
"Can you stay here with me?"
"Yes my angel."
He sat next to me and I snuggled into his chest and drifted off to sleep.
