Chapter Two

Clary's POV

"Jace stop put me down!" I screamed as Jace spun me round in his arms. He put me onto the grass slowly and sat down beside me, he leaned over and kissed me softly on the lips. The sun was shining down on us and the grass seemed to sway in the breeze. I was suddenly overcome by a hard pounding in my head. I looked over at Jace. "Help me." I whispered breathlessly. All I saw was his frantic expression and then the world when dark.
My eyes felt like they were glued shut, I couldn't see but I could hear voices that sounded distant.
"C'mon Clary wake up, i need you Clary, without you the band will have no fans." Simon said jokingly. "Oh shut up bloodsucker, Clary wake up, I love you." Jace whispered sweetly. Why would Jace say he loves me, he's my best friend and he told me he only liked me as a friend and I only liked him as a friend. Slowly my eyes started to open. "Simon, Jace is it you." I moaned groggily. Simons face lit up and Jace suddenly embraced me and planted a kiss on my lips. I pulled away hastily. "Woah Jace what the hell are you kissing me for." I shouted loudly. Jace looked as if I'd just slapped him hard. "Clary I'm your boyfriend and kissing is was couples do." He told me matter of factly. I looked at him confused. "Jace were not a couple, your my best friend and we've already made it clear before that we only have friend feelings for each other." I said to him quietly. Jace looked agonised. He looked to Simon. "Bloodsucker summon Magnus, something's happened to Clary and I need to know what." He ordered Simon. A wave of tiredness hit me and I fell fast asleep. When I awoke Magnus was standing by my bed. He hugged me softly with a sad expression.
"Hey Biscuit." He said softly.
"What's the matter Magnus?" I asked him curiously.
"Tell me what do you remember about your relationship with Jace?" He questioned.
"Jace is my best friend, he's been my best friend since I found out I was a shadowhunter." I explained to Magnus. "It's just as I thought, your memories have been altered, must of been altered by a very powerful warlock if you weren't present but the spell still worked, their more powerful then me." Magnus told me sadly. Jace walked in silently and looked to Magnus. "Altered memories, is there no way to reverse this, Magnus I want my girlfriend back!" Jace demanded. Magnus just glanced at him with pity in his eyes. "I'll look for a reverse spell but it may be hard as the spell on her right now is very powerful and hard to reverse." Magnus whispered to him. Jace just looked hurt. Suddenly my phone started to beep. I sat up and picked the phone off the table and looked at the message. 'Meet me at Central Park in 30 minutes' the text said, it was from an unknown number. I took a risk and decided I'd go and meet the person. Whilst Jace and Magnus were busy talking I carved Soundless ruins into my boots and left the infirmary and the institute. After walking for 20 minutes I reached Central Park. I sat at a bench underneath a tree and text the number to tell them I was here. I saw a tall figure with ash white hair and black eyes approaching me, Sebastian.....
