Chapter Six

Clarys POV

The date with Sebastian was perfect, we went to the cinema to see the latest Channing Tatum film and then out for a meal, the night was finally starting to come to a close when I got a message from Simon. The message read 'hey Clary you need to get to the institute as soon as possible, apparently you need to attend some meeting, well um have fun.' Sebastian glanced at me.

"Is something the matter?" he asked kindly whilst gently stroking my hand.

"I'm sorry to ruin the date but I need to get to the institute for some sort of meeting, I'll come over tomorrow and see you." I explained to him before standing up and planting a quick kiss on his lips.

"That's fine, I'll see you tomorrow then Clarissa." he said flirtatiously.

"See you tomorrow Sebby!" I exclaimed before walking off to the institute, the rune had finally faded and my glamour was now gone. I walked briskly down the dark New York streets before finally reaching the institute. I pushed open the iron gates that had become so familiar to me, I approached the doors confidently and they seemed to have sensed me there as they opened when I got near. The inside of the institute seemed dark and daunting, I took out my witch light before slowly and gingerly walking inside. The corridors were deserted like always but for once they were left without light. I got in the old elevator and slowly made my way down to the main part, it was a slow and bumpy journey. I exited the elevator and to my surprise I was not greeted by Church for once, something wasn't right. I made my way towards a light, the light was coming from the library, I pushed open the door slowly and descended the stairs, sitting in an arm chair in the corner of the room was Jace.

"Hey Jace, where is everyone, I thought there was a meeting?" I asked curiously.

"I sent you that message, I lied their is no meeting, but me and you need to talk, everyone else is out." he told me. I started to feel anxious, this was probably about Sebastian.

"What do you need to talk about Jace?" I asked timidly.

"I know about your disgusting little relationship with Sebastian, your own brother! When we thought we were brother and sister and I offered you a secret relationship you turned me down yet you don't turn down that monster!" Jace shouted angrily.

"Jace you don't understand, Sebby isn't a monster, I love him and I don't care about him being my brother, it's nothing compared to the love I feel for him." I explained calmly

"You disgust me Clary, just go away!" he screamed.

"Don't you dare talk to Clary that way, she's a better person than you'll ever be!" shouted a voice from the top of the stairs, that voice belonged to Sebastian. I looked at him and he smiled fondly at me, Jace let out a snort of disgust.

"Your both disgraceful." he said plainly.

"C'mon clary lets go home!" Sebastian said softly, I went to the top of the stairs to join Sebastian and before leaving I took one last sad glance at Jace.

"Clary I love you, I'm sorry." Jace whispered softly, but it was too late.
