I don't know how long that ray of sunlight had been peeking through the gap in the curtains before it found its way to my face. I fought to ignore the annoying alarm clock but it wouldn't stop until I got up. I yawned, managing to fully open both eyes. I sighed aloud and leaned back in my bed. Just another ordinary day; nothing to look forward to.
Every day I was more anxious to finish school. Just the thought of going to college in less than a month desire the end of school as soon as possible.
To calm those desires, I kept telling myself, "Just one month Diana. Only one and you are done."
I went to the bathroom to bathe quickly and put on my school uniform. Usually, I always wore a little bit of makeup. Not too much, because I did not want people to think I was exaggerating but I always liked taking care of my personal image. I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked into my dark brown eyes in my reflection. I looked carefully at myself. My dark hair like the night sky was perfectly combed. I was ready.
I finished preparing the last things to go to school. I was going to say goodbye to my mom but she was sleeping and today was her free day so I didn't want to bother her.
I was walking to school, which was a few blocks away from my place, while a cool morning breeze touched my face. The weather was nice and the morning promised a good day, or that's what I hoped.
Finally I reached the main street of my school. I could see all the cars crowded in the street leaving all the students in the sidewalk. At this hour of the morning there was always traffic in this street because of all the parents that left their kids there. I never had that problem, since I always walked from my home since the distance was short enough to walk here.
I greeted some friends but I kept walking to the building. The school building wasn't that big, it only had three floors, but I always liked it. I preferred a small school rather than a big one.
I was going upstairs feeling happy. I was going to see my boyfriend Daniel after the weekend that seemed endless for me. He went on a trip with his dad so I didn't see him the whole weekend.
Finally I got to the third floor. There were a lot of students outside of their classrooms waiting for the ring of the bell so they could enter in their classroom. I was looking up their heads and between them for Daniel. I was looking for the cutest guy on earth.
He had gorgeous cheekbones, which could only be matched with his alluring hazel eyes. He always kept his hair combed, like he came straight from the 1920's. The way he stood provoked every vein in my body, and sent my mind into a sweet hysteria.
And there I saw him. His dark eyes like the night, looking intensely at mine. He was lying against the wall while he smiled at me with his beautiful white teeth. I walked towards him with a smile on my face.
He gave me a sweet kiss and he hugged me. I could smell his cologne, which drove me crazy. He leaned closed to my ear to whisper sweet things at it.
"Good morning sweetie. I missed you."
I kissed him back and said that I missed him too. I was completely in love with him. The only thing I didn't like about going to college was that I had to leave him, since he was one year younger than me.
We were talking about his trip with his father before the bell rang, when Jennifer appeared out of nowhere and hugged me. She was wearing her typical white bow, which I gave her for her birthday. She always seemed cute with it on.
Jennifer was one of my best friends. We knew each other in a much deeper level. She didn't really like my boyfriend though, she always said she didn't trust him but she was always nice to him, because she knew that I really loved him and he made me happy.
We started talking when I noticed that one of my friends wasn't here. Alice. She always came every morning to our spot in the hallway. She was the youngest of my group of friends even though she was mature enough to seem older.
The bell rang so Jennifer said goodbye and went to her classroom. Daniel kissed me again and we both walked to our classes.
