I got my thoughts together about all of these things, when I felt someone kissing me on my forehead and sitting next to me. I stopped thinking about it and then I met those beautiful dark eyes that drove me crazy. Daniel appeared with his tray of food.
We all were eating calmly, talking about anything, until Jennifer started talking about something much more serious.
"You guys heard what came out in the newspaper the other day?"
"Oh," Said Henry "about the missing teenager?" he said as he gave a bite to his meal.
Jennifer just nodded towards him. I looked to their faces with concern, since I had no idea what they were talking about. Jennifer knew that I wasn't getting anything because she looked at me with that typical face of "you're not getting anything right?"
"See," she said leaving the food on the tray "On the newspaper, some disturbing news came out a few days ago."
"Disturbing" news? What could it have been? Rape? What would have been so "disturbing" to appear in the newspaper?
"Look Diana" Henry said interrupting Jennifer. "A few days ago, something strange happened in the abandoned city's asylum." Henry paused chewing his food, and then he continued, "In the asylum, which no one dares to go because of the fear caused by the myths that runs through the neighborhood near the place, occurred something that is causing paraphernalia in the news "
I stopped chewing my food when Henry finished talking. The asylum? I had always liked those kinds of things. "Bizarre" things, I would say. Horror things that caused goose bumps. Jennifer had always said that I was crazy for liking that kind of "junk".
"And nobody has gone there before?" I said with doubt in my face.
"Yes Diana." Jennifer said, "But the only person documented that went to the asylum, no one saw it again" I felt a chill running all over my body when she said that "Nobody knows if other people have gone in. Even thought if they were more, they didn't come out. A rational person would not enter there".
This entire story was true? People believed in the myths that run in the neighborhood. However, I never believed them.
"And they didn't find the girl?" said Daniel with a bit of concern in his face.
"No" said Henry in a severe way "No sign of her. And no one attempts to enter there. Its too creepy"
Cowards, was the first word that came to my mind. They are scared of an asylum? For God sake. That poor girl could be lost there and no one dared to get in there? Poor girl; I felt sorry for her and her family. It was unbelievable. If I were a part of the police or an investigation group, I wouldn't rest until I found her. That's supposed to be their job, but no, they were too "scared" too look for that poor missing girl.
"I'd be really scared of entering there" Said Jennifer looking at me.
"Who would risk entering there?" Henry said with his eyes wide open "I can bet that the girl who went in there was crazy or she was suicidal. I don't understand why she would've gone in there."
There was moment of silence in the table, until I gambled saying something that could sound a little bit odd.
"I will go to the asylum" I said firmly.
Everyone stopped eating and looked at me, shocked.
