Chapter 7

Kihyun stormed out of the room and ran to where Minah's scream came from.

There he found broken pieces of glass scattered on the floor. Minah is crouching on the floor, fear in her face. Haejin hugs her friend tightly while rubbing her back.

"What happened?" He asked, careful of the pieces of broken glass on the floor.

Even the nuns and the swimming team went out of their rooms, got awake because of the noise.

"She's having a panic attack whenever she hears explosive sounds, she doesn't like hearing even the piercing thunder sounds." Haejin explained.

Kihyun was worried and there's something hitting his chest that it feels heavy. He remembered his nightmare. As it flashes in his eyes, he shutted his eyes real hard and tried to erase it. He rushed to Minah and held her.

Haejin knows this time, it's not her that her friend needs. It's someone else now, but she's hoping that she is doing the right thing by entrusting her to Kihyun.

Kihyun cupped her face very gently, afraid that he will startle her, then Haejin softly spoke. "It's him, Minah."

"K-Kihyun?"

Minah's voice almost cracked. Kihyun automatically embraced him and she just clutched on his shirt tightly as if she's getting strength from it.

'God, her body is shaking too much.' He worriedly thought and rubbed her back.

It suddenly hurts him to see her like this. From the first time he met her, she already gave her this unusual intimidating and strong yet gentle vibe. But now, she looks so vulnerable and fragile that Kihyun felt this urge to protect her and afraid he might hurt her at the same time.

"Sshh, I'm here. You are not alone.." he said while carressing her hair in the most gentle way possible as he made a short eye contact with Shownu.

The latter nods and Kihyun added, "Everyone is here with you. You can calm down now."

"T-this coldness I suddenly feel as this darkness arounds me is devouring me whole... I'm scared, Random Guy.. I-I'm sca--aaaaaccckkk!!"

As another piercing lightning struck followed by a booming thunder outside, Minah screamed and clung into Kihyun more closer and automatically he embraced her tightly like a little child.

"K-Kihyun.." she started to cry. "Please, m-make them stop.."

"Shhh.. I'm here." That's all he can say. This is new to him, he doesn't know what to do.

"Please make them go away.. make them stop." She begged, clinging tightly to his shirt.

"I think it's better if we go back to your room, you won't hear the thunder that much there." He suggested but in his most gentle voice.

"N-no, no,no! I d-don't want to go anywhere. P-please." Minah is begging this time.

He cupped her face and stroke his cheeks gently wiping the tears flowing on his face. He looked up to Shownu and gestured to get his phone in his room with the headphones.

"Listen, you are a brave girl, right? You said to me that people usually get intimidated of you, right?" He began.

She nodded, unsure. She tried to focus on Kihyun's voice and tried to cling to it's beautiful sound to distract herself.

"Kihyun, just keep talking. I'll call her brother." Haejin whispered from afar doing some little gestures as she walked away silently.

"Why are you so afraid of thunders? It won't harm you, people get scared of you and get intimidated by you so you can intimidate a thunder too." Kihyun on his low tone of voice, calming voice.
