Lost and found

Crash landing

It was a peaceful night in National City. Kara, Alex, Winn, Maggie, Lena, James and Mon-el were all at Kara's apartment for games night when they see a ball of flames fly across the sky. Just like when Mon-el crash landed here on Earth. Everyone stood up and rushed to the window immediately.
"Let's go." Ordered Alex in a firm voice, turning to Kara and Mon-el.
"Yeah." Kara said with a sigh.
Lena had found out she was Supergirl a couple of weeks back but was still getting used to it. Kara and Mon-el flew out the window at super speed. Lena smiled and looked up at them flying. "Cool." She whispered to herself.

The burning figure had crash landed in a field, just a few miles out of the City. Kara and Mon-el landed in a load of smoke, surrounding this mysterious object. As they walked in closer they were able to make out what it was. A Kryptonian ship. Kara stopped for a minute and swallowed the lump in her throat. Just seeing a Kryptonian ship bought fear to her. The reminder of all she'd been forced to leave behind on Krypton and the time she had to send Mon-el away not knowing if she'd ever see him again. She didn't hesitate to go and open the pod.
"Kara wait you don't know what could be in there!" Mon-el warned her as she walked closer. Kara ignored him.  She opened the pod to find a girl of the age of about 14, unconscious inside. She had blonde hair, the same tone as Kara's and she wore a necklace that looked almost identical to the one Kara's aunt Astra had given her for one of her birthdays once back on Krypton. The girl looked grubby and neglected. Krypton exploded a long time ago so Kara could only begin to imagine how long she's been in this pod.
Kara stood there frozen, shook by the thought that this girl could be from Krypton and she could finally be given the opportunity to do what she promised her mother she would do when she gets to earth.
"Kara what are we looking at?" Alex questioned with concern through her earpiece. Kara didn't respond. She was lost in thought of how this girl has only just arrived now and where the necklace came from. Mon-el was now stood beside her with his hand on her shoulder for support. He understood what she was going through right now. To think that all of your people are dead and then to find out that someone else is still alive comes as a big shock.
"KARA!" Alex yelled through the earpiece, concerned for her safety.
"Its okay Alex... we're fine." Said Mon-el to reassure his girlfriends sister.
"Okay what is it we're looking at here?" Questioned Alex. There was a moment of silence when Mon-el looked at Kara to see if she would reply. And she did. "It's a Kryptonian ship." Kara said, still in shock.
Alex was confused. "Is there anyone inside?" She asked.
"Yeah... there's... a young girl." Replied Kara as she went to brush some of the sandy dust, still from the explosion, off of the young girls face.
"How young?" Alex asked.
"About 14?" Kara replied uncertainly. She went and picked up the young girl out of the pod. She looked down at her and smiled, like holding a new born baby of her own. Although she wasn't really a baby, she was one of her own. She was definitely a Kryptonian.

Kara and Mon-el flew back into the DEO. When she landed with the young girl in her arms, everyone rushed towards her.
"Right let's get her under some solar radiation lamps so she can rest." Ordered John. Kara placed the girl down as they strapped oxygen tubes under her nose, heart rate monitors to her chest and put her on a drip. Kara stood there watching them helplessly. Mon-el stood beside her and put his arm around her for comfort. She turned round so she was now hugging him, still watching them desperately try and help this little kryptonian. Not knowing how she could help her. She knew when she did wake up, she'd want to take care of her and keep the promise she made, but because this girl was so young... she still needed a mother. Kara wasn't ready to be a mother. Not yet.
