A couple days later.
I sit beside Santiago in a plastic chair, at the NYC airport. Mateo's plane is about to land, with Sofia and Samuel.

"You look pretty today, Emery." Santiago says.

I nod, "I couldn't sleep last night."

Santiago smirks. "I can't help that Sadie is loud."

"Don't." I hold my hand up. "Just don't. She's y son's aunt."

Santiago laughs before we see who we've been waiting for.

"Amiga!!" Sofia cheers as she hugs me. "Avon, Hola, niño!"

"Hola, Sofia." I greet her. "How was your flight?

"Long," she replies, "being stuck between Mateo and Samuel."

"Shut up," Samuel groans. "Hola, Hermosa."

"Hola, Samuel." I greet. "Mateo."

Mateo kisses my cheek. "Emery."

"Let's go, Gavin is waiting with Rylan and my father." I say. "My father gets impatient."

"I'll like him." Mateo says as we head towards my hummer. "I get impatient too."

"Mr Cruz!" Dad shakes Mateo's hand. "I'm Nova Sparks."

Mateo shakes dad's hand. "Call me Mateo. Mister makes me sound old."

"Lo siento, Mateo." Dad says, and leads him to the back.

"Venga." Samuel says, stopping beside me.

Samuel places a hand on the small of my back, and we go to the back room. I sit beside Mateo, as he insists, Sofia is beside Rubin, Santiago is beside Sadie, and Samuel is beside the Jones twins.

"I am here to make this alliance official." Mateo says, sitting up- with a hand resting on my knee. "Samuel, you have the papers for the bosses to sign."

Mateo, dad, mom, and Gavin all sign the papers needed. Samuel puts them back into the safety of his briefcase, and sits back. Mateo shakes my dad's hand, then mom's, and then Gavin's.

"It's official." Mateo says, sitting back. "You've formed a new alliance."

"Thank you, Mateo." I mutter.

"No problem, hermosa." Mateo whispers, and he walks out.

"Santiago, I want to sleep tonight." I demand before storming out.

"Want to stay at our place?" Nina asks me.

I sigh, "no, I don't want to intrude."

"You won't be." Gavin says. "Until they go back to Barcelona, anyways."

"They leave tomorrow." I say.

"Then stay the night." Gavin insists. "I'm not taking no for an answer, Emery."

"Plus, Mateo is sleeping there." Nina says. "You Can sleep with him."

"Just; don't keep us up tonight."

I go into Gavin and Nina's house, and find Mateo eating a bologna sandwich.

"Did you fry the bologna?" I ask.

"Yes." Mateo replies, looking up at me.

"Good," I reply. "It's best that way. Fried."

"Sit, por favor." Mateo Says, and i sit beside him. "You sleeping beside me tonight?"

"Yes, I am." I reply. "Santiago and Sadie.... Get along."

Mateo laughs, finishing up his sandwich. "No surprise. Santiago likes American women."

"You seem to, as well." I wink.

Mateo doesn't respond, he just kisses me. One hand is on my cheek, and the other on my knee. He licks my lip, for permission to dominate my mouth. I open slightly, and his tongue dominates mine.

"Whoa...." Mateo mumbles. "Hermosa."

"Hermoso." I agree. "Avon agrees."

Mateo places his hand over my stomach, and smiles. "He likes me."
Author's Point Of View

"I'd love to know what's going on at home." Nina grumbles.

Gavin laughs. "Emery is getting to know Mateo a little more."

"He likes her," Samuel says. "He wouldn't stop talking about her when she came back to Rochester."

"Mateo likes Emery," Sofia smiles. "He needs a woman to keep him grounded. Now it's a woman, and baby."

"My baby." Rylan says.

"You lost that claim when you betrayed her." Nova says darkly.

Rylan frowns. "Yes, sir."

Samuel and Sofia look around, and find Rubin alone. Sofia blushes, and she goes to talk to Rubin. Santiago is with Sadie, a lovely American. Samuel grunts, he realizes he is the only one without a crush or girlfriend / boyfriend here. He is dating Valentina, who is in Barcelona still.

Emery's Point Of View

Mateo pulls away, So he can catch a breath. We have been making out since we realized that Avon will actually like Mateo.

"You are beautiful, mi amor." Mateo smiles. "So beautiful."

I kiss Mateo on the cheek. "Gracias, Mateo."

"De Nada." Mateo smiles. "Let's lay down."

Author's Point Of View
Gavin and Nina enter their home, and Nina goes straight to bed. Pregnant has her exhausted. Gavin sneaks a peak into the guest room, and sees Emery and Mateo sleeping- cuddling with one another.

Gavin climbs into bed with Nina, and places his hand on her belly. Ava moved around slightly, trying to sleep comfortably in Nina's womb. Gavin closes his eyes, and sleep takes over the house.
