One week later.

When I wake up, Dr Shepherd is there holding Avon.

"Ready to hold you son?" He asks.

I sit the bed up in a hurry. "Give him to me."

Dr Shepherd smiles, and carefully hands me Avon. "I'll leave you two alone."

I look at my son when Dr Shepherd leaves. Avon blinks his gray eyes open, and stares into mine. A tear escapes my eye, I am finally holding my son for the first time in a week.

"Hey, son." I whisper in a shaky voice. "I'm your mommy."

Author's Point Of View
Rubin and Sofia stop outside the hospital room door, and see Emery holding Avon. Rubin knew Avon was strong.

"Hey." Rubin greets, entering the room. "He's a strong little booger."

Emery's Point Of View

I smile at Rubin. "He is."

Avon smiles adorably, and I coo over my smiling son. Sofia walks in and she smiles down at Avon.

"Mateo went to Barcelona, didn't he?" I ask.

Sofia nods. "I want this stay, to see you hold Avon."

"Santiago is in Barcelona, too." Rubin says.

I nod, and I begin smelling poop. I lay Avon between my opened legs, Sofia hands me the diapers and wipes. I change my sons diaper. This is my first time changing his diaper.

"Hey," Rylan greets entering the room. "I heard he was breathing on his own."

I nod. "Just changed my first poopy diaper."

Rylan smiles down at Avon. "Atta boy. Can't stay long. Penelope likes to rush me."

"Doesn't she understand that Avon is your son, too." I ask.

"Apparently not." Rylan replies. "I've explained it a million times. She doesn't seem to care."

"You've downgraded, Rylan." I smirk. "Sorry."

"You're right, I did downgrade." Rylan admits. "I have to go."

A few hours later.
———

"Ready to go home?" Dr Shepherd asks, stepping in my for room with a wheelchair.

I nod, and get into the chair. Gavin hands Avon to me, and he carries his diaper bag. I am taking my son home, finally. Mom and dad are there, because Sadie moved into her own place.

Mama runs over and she gently grabs Avon. "My precious, strong grandson."

Dad helps me into the mini van, and mom puts Avon in his car seat. Dr Shepherd waves bye to us all, and dad drives us home.

They expanded the clubhouse. The Bloody Rose guys moved to Rochester. Fun? Right? A big family for Avon to grow up around.

I lay Avon on my bed at home, and I take my slippers off. Nik is here, visiting me. Nik has an odd phobia of hospitals, so this is his first time seeing me and Avon since my water broke a week ago.

Nik carefully picks Avon up, and he smiles. "You lucky man, you look like your ma."

I roll my eyes and sit in my desk chair. "He does, doesn't he?"

"He'll be a chubby fella." Nik winks.

"If you weren't holding him, I'd so throw something at you." I say, and smile.

"Bring him to the clubhouse tomorrow." Gavin says. "Meeting with Yugo."

I nod, "Okay."

Nik places Avon in my arms, and he leaves when Sadie walks in. She makes her nephew a bottle, and hands it to me.

"It's your first night taking care of him." Sadie smiles.

"First night of eighteen years." I smile at my eating baby. "I love him so much, already, Sadie."

"That's how I know you'll make an amazing mother. Biker or not."

"I was in the clubhouse since I was Avon's age." I tell her. "Ask my mom."

"She's right, ya know?" Mom says, grabbing Avon to burp him. "The business never ends when you give birth."

"Wow." Sadie smiles. "That explains Emery's bravery."

"Yep." Mom says, handing Avon back to me. "We taught Emery different, like we will teach Avon."

"Fear is the only real enemy." I say, smiling at my baby boy. "Isn't that right, champ?"

Mom smiles, and looks at Sadie. "Wanna help make dinner? Sofia is wanting to eat before she gets in her plane back to Barcelona."

"Sure," Sadie replies. "I'll see you two soon enough."

I lay Avon on my bed, and I take off the day's clothes. I look at myself in the mirror, and notice how much worse my stretch marks got. I've had stretch marks since high school, because of my weight. They've gotten worse with pregnancy.

"I love you, sonny boy." I kiss Avon on his head. "Even though you have me ten times more stretch marks than I've been before."

I pull on some spongebob pajama pants and a black t-shirt. I lay down beside Avon, and I dose off.
Author's Point Of View

Sadie helps Reese Sparks with dinner while Sofia goes to check on Emery and Avon.

"Both of them are sleeping." Sofia says. "Emery changed, but they are sleeping."

"They'll be up a few times throughout the night." Reese says. "Knowing Emery's strong ass, she won't allow Sadie or me to help."

"She is independent." Sadie shrugs, chopping potatoes, Reese is boiling them for something. "She doesn't depend on anybody. That's a good trait in a woman."

"I agree," Reese says, putting the potatoes in a roast.

Oh. Sadie thinks. Roast with potatoes and carrots. That explains a lot.

"Emery gets that independence from Reese," Nova Sparks says, coming from the basement. "Reese doesn't depend on anyone else but herself."

"Want something done right, so it yourself." Reese says. "That's My motto."

"Emery seems to follow that motto, dear." Nova says, kissing his wife on the cheek. "I like the fact she has grown so strong."

"Mateo will be lucky if she gives him a chance with her." Reese says.

"He likes the independence." Sofia says. "His last girlfriend's all depended on his money. He likes the fact that Emery doesn't. She is strong, as he says. He prays in Spanish nightly, for Emery to give him one chance."

Reese smiles. "Let's eat, you have an early flight Sofia."
