Saving
By: Best Person Ever! Me!

This was her life on day:

Keep working, keep working,

Stop working and pay,

That was their life long rule.

The rule that slaves did bide.

But one young girl did not,

Not agree to abide.

Growing and growing,

Older and older,

Now is that girl full grown.

"Keep running, keep running,

Across their borders now."

Did this woman say.

Brave was she, smart was she!

Went she along secretly,

In the night, with her help,

Seventy black families,

Did pass into the free.

Now honor this woman,

That set black people free.
