"I-I'm so sorry!"

"Why did I bother leaving the house today?" He internally groaned.

"Are you okay?!"

Kindaichi rubbed the new bruise on the side of his head, his eyes clenched shut as his head pounded from the girl's frantic voice.

"I'm fine, I'm fine." He mumbled, hoping to shut her up. You see, Kindaichi originally had no plans for the day, hoping to get some peace and quiet as he stayed home for once. Unfortunately that quickly changed when his mother's plan to take his little siblings on a playdate were canceled, leaving the rambunctious children to torture their older brother out of the house.

"Are you sure? That looks like it really hurts.." Her voice had softened, possibly catching a hint of his agitation.

"I'm sure. You should really watch where you're going, though." He opened his eyes, his vision still a little spotty from the fall he took. He hadn't hit his head that hard, but it was still enough to make him want to go put some ice on it.

"I know, I'm sorry..." He could hear the guilt in her voice, he bet that she had a sad expression to match. He had to refrain from rolling his eyes, as she was seemingly making this a much bigger deal than it was.

His eyes finally trailed up to her face, and he quickly regretted everything he had thought about her. "She's gorgeous.." His cheeks flared up, her E/C eyes still looking away shamefully while she was kneeling down beside him. A bit of her H/C hair had fallen into her face, but other than that her hair framed her face perfectly, all of her beautiful features complementing one another.

"I-I... Uh... Are you okay?" He scrambled to his feet, quickly offering her his hand. She gratefully took it, giving the tall male a shy smile that didn't help his blush.

"I'm fine, thank you." She gave him a nervous, wobbly smile, playing with the hem of her shirt.

He didn't know what to do, he had never dealt with girls before, let alone one this cute. Suddenly, the worst idea popped into his head, but what other choice did he have? He took in a deep breath, pushing his nerves to the side as he pep-talked himself. "Okay, breathe, you've got this. Just... Do what Oikawa senpai would do."

"Hey, um.... would you like to... Lunch? I-I mean would you like to go? To lunch!... W-with me?"

"What the actual fuck was that?!" He mentally cursed himself, afraid that he may have blew it. He knew his embarrassment must have been showing with his face feeling like a furnace and his palms sweating profusely.

Hearing her soft giggles, he quickly turned his attention back to the girl who hid her smile behind her hand. She was blushing much to his surprise.

"I'd love to." She gave him a closed eyed smiled as she offered her hand for him to shake. "My name is L/N F/N, by the way."

He returned her smile, his relief and excitement taking over as he realized that he hadn't messed everything up. At least not yet. "Kindaichi Yūtarō."
