Bellamy
I can't move. I don't want to. It can't be real. At first the idea of actually coming back was unbelievable. But actually being here. That's a new one. I watched as everyone left the rocket after seeing the small girl who opened the rocket. I presumed it was Madye. The little Nightblood girl Clarke talked about. Clarke. She must be right outside. Standing in the green valley where we landed. Just outside the hunk of metal I sat I'm still afraid of what was outside.I was thinking. I still am. That maybe, just maybe the pain of parting is nothing compared to the joy of meeting again. Right? It should be true. But I don't even know if I could even convince myself of that truth. It was in my head. The struggle for me was what would happen. How would we act. What would we do when we see each other after 6 years had passed. I haven't even thought about it. It seemed like such an irrelevant question to ask. But I had all these letters confessing everything to her in my backpack. I unzipped my bag and pulled them out. I had only brought some with me. The first few and last one I wrote to her.
I put them back. I'll give them to her tonight. Right now all I wanted was to see her. I finally pulled on my bag and pulled myself from the rockets entrance. I came to the ground taking a breath in and wandering around the ship. Smiles filled everyone's faces. Hugs going around. I saw the back of a blonde head. Harper's laughter and happiness slung over her shoulder. Harper saw me and pulled away her smile fading and glancing to the others who had just gone silent. The blonde turned around and I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding.
It was her.
It was really her."Bellamy," the voice I'd missed most gasped.
She ran to me and we embraced. I felt her hands in my newly cut hair gripping on me for dear life. I held her waist and shoulder closely never wanting to let go. My face was buried into the crook of her neck. I could feel her tears falling into my suit. My own even took the chance of coming out of hiding. My hand held her back and we pulled away.
"It's really you," I said in a mere whisper.
She nodded with a smile. Then we were interrupted by a small presence to our right. A young girl who reminded me a lot of Octavia stood there. She was about the same age Octavia was when we first came to the ground. Madye.
"Bellamy this is Madye. Madye this is Bellamy," Clarke introduced pulling further away.
I smiled to the girl as she suddenly embraced me in a hug. I held her head as she had her face buried in my chest. I laughed lightly as she pulled away.
"I'm glad I finally got to meet you Bellamy," Madye said.
Madye then left Clarke and I be. I stepped away finally letting go of her. Even though I aches for her skin on mine once again I knew things had to get done. I looked down to the ground at my feet. Even after all the heartache I made for myself of the Ark I still couldn't admit it. Clarke waited in our comfortable silence. I looked up and she decided to speak instead of me.
"We have some things to get done. Let's go," she said in the familiar tone she used when we used to lead together.
"Clarke," I called grabbing her arm without thinking.
"Mhmm?" She spun around meeting my eyes.
"I need to talk to you later okay."
She nodded. I knew still things had to get done first. Like getting to whatever camp she had set up. And planning to get them from the bunker. Octavia. That's right. She's still alive. My baby sister is still breathing down there. At least so I hope. I followed behind everyone as we followed after Clarke and Madye who led the way to the camp. The only thing on my mind was the letters that were floating in my pack. We came over a hill revealing the camp after an hour hike. We crash landed pretty far from where they stayed. First I saw the reservoir and then tents. Then lastly my smile widened and I began with a chuckle.
"No way. My baby's still here!" I laughed seeing the Rover nearly jogging to it.
I walked around the vehicle checking out it's new perks. The others settled as Clarke joined me again. She smiled as I came around to see her again.
"I fixed it up with what I had. Month or Raven may need to check it out. I am pretty shitty with my mechanics as you know," she laughed.
"No. Monty and Raven are not coming near this beauty. I'll check it. I'm the one that knows cars. They know chemicals and electricity. I'm the car guy," I said defensively with humor.
"Oh yeah nice haircut by the way," she joked back.
"Oh says you." I nudged her arm playfully.
She then encouraged us to get back to planning for uncovering the bunker. Now that we have more manpower maybe we can get the rubble off of the doors to get them out. Rejoin our families and friends. At least those of us that still have families. But that's beside the point. It was time to get them out. Begin civilization once again.
