17. Dusk at Sea

It had been a long two months at sea, you believe Dualscar initially wanted to go to another dock, away from home, but the waters seemed to crash against the ship, seeming to push you further away from your destination.
He was very protective of you, when the crew members mentioned stopping at not very well known docks, he seemed hesitant, but agreed, as the crew was running out materials day by day. A certain dock that you stopped at gave you a nervous feeling, as the ship passed it by you could see the dull town. You shivered, walking over to Dualscar and shuffling your hand into his, causing him to look down at you.
"Gettin the same feelin lass?"
His voice wavered slightly, his jaw clenching afterwards. You nod, humming softly. It went quiet, hearing him mutter slightly, then loosening his grip on your hand as he turned to his crew, that was eager to get on any type of land at this point. He yelled, his rough and sonorous tone grabbing everyone's attention.
"Once vwe get on land you keep your attention full, and bring yer vweapons if you plan on goin in anyvwhere. If you don't get back to shop vwhen yer called, then I ain't comin back for ya."
His tone in the last sentence getting cold and monotone as his eyes seemed to get dagger like, they wandered around and looked at the crew, making sure they all heard him loud and clear. Most of them nodding respectfully and getting back to work or looking over the railing, watching the boat get closer to the dock. A couple minutes later you felt the ship slow to a stop, hearing crew members start putting the anchors down and tying it to the pillars. The feeling in your gut seeming to get worse as most people in the town stopped to look at the slightly faded violet ship. Dualscar pulled you close. "Ya vwanna get off and look about lass?" He asked, looking down at you as hip grip tightened only a little on your side. You shrugged. "It wouldn't hurt to see what's around here I guess, we have to get off to get supplies anyways, don't we?" He tilted his head. "True" he says before laughing. "Aye, maybe i can get ya a drink at an inn" you roll your eyes playfully. "Oh lord" you say, giggling quietly. The crew members making their way into the somewhat creepy town, making you shuffle closer to the high blood. Trolls seemed to glare at him, earning a sneer from him, his stance making them cower back. Only making you more fearful. A certain pair of eyes making you shrink closer, causing the high blood to look down at you. "Vwhats vwrong lass?" You shivered, shrugging slightly. "I-...I don't know, I feel very unsafe here.." he hugged you closer to his side. "Vwecan leave tovwn if you'd like to lass" you opened your mouth, about to answer until a dark chuckle came from a deep alleyway close by. Making you tense and grip at his chest plate, his grip tightening. A figure slinking out of the shadows and exposing its dark red and black eyes. Feeling Dualscar tense and stiffen, his eyes going wide at first, then squinting as he growled. The figure standing up straight, being taller then Kurloz or Gamzee. He chuckled in a raspy tone, noticing your small figure more as he slowly seemed to get closer. "Vwe're not here for this Grivon-" the sound of Dualscar finally talking made the red bloods eyes go up to meet his. "W3ll now duallyyyy, you probably should hav3 this thought of a b3tt3r 3xcus3 for m3" he said in almost a sing-song tone, his teeth showing through his wide grin. His pointer finger booping Dualscars nose afterwards, causing Dualscar to huff and growl more. His hand jolting out and gripping the trolls wrist. "I have my reasoning and I gave it to ya, ya fuckin freak, novw leave us alone." He flouted at the deranged being, baring his canines. But this only led to him grinning in amusement. Fiddling with his hands as he looked back down at you. "W3ll w3ll now- l3t us not be s3lfish-" he started, his hand reaching down to stroke your cheek. But before he could even get close, Dualscar shoved it away, his hand going to his back and gripping his harpoon gun tightly. "I don't vwant there to be bloodshed lovwblood. But there has to be, then so be it." He growled, his muscles tensing as you could feel his pulse beat faster. The red blood seeming to finally get the hint, backing off and seeming to be frightened at first. "Suit yourself dually ,hope you enjoy my little home while you're able to." He said, his tone getting sour and dark, then seeing his silhouette fade into the alleys shadows. Your eyes staying in the same spot for a little before being pulled from your spacing out, Dualscar picking you up and setting you on his shoulders, then walking around town like that for the rest of the visit. His gaze turning toxic at those who got too close, or stared for too long. You calmed down after a bit, starting to play with his hair, smelling the very slightly musky, but masculine aroma that would waft out from the strands of ink every once in a while. You hummed in content, starting to cuddle the back of his head. Making him chuckle and pap your legs softly, earning a purr-like noise to emerge from your throat.

It had been a couple hours and you felt yourself getting tired, yawning more often and catching yourself dozing off, nearly drooling when you do fall into a soft sleep. His hand rubbing your forearm gently as you heard the sound of his boots clunking in the wood base of the ship. Not bothering to open your eyes as he switched positions of how he was holding you, now carrying your tired form in a bride like way. His boots thumping for a bit before hearing a door creak open, his rough hands setting you down on the comforting mattress, feeling the warmth of a blanket envelop you, making you smile tiredly. His tough snarl now turned into a loving smile, watching you for a moment before the door shut and the sound of his footsteps faded away. You sighed and rolled onto your side, looking out the window and seeing the calm waves rolling against the orange sunset. You snuggled into the blanket and closed your eyes, a slight tiredness coming over you as your eyes got a bit heavy, soon you felt yourself drifting into a light sleep.

It had been a little while after you had fallen asleep, you shuffled around slightly as you drifted into a lighter sleep then before. Your eyes traveled to the window again, seeing that it was much darker then before. You stretched out your arms and twisted your torso, letting out a relieved sigh as your back popped some, allowing more comfort. Closing your eyes and relaxing as you heard a pair of heavy boots get louder as they got closer to the door, Dualscar opening the door and letting out an agitated huff as he took off his armor and boots, shutting the door behind him as he sat on the bed, his back turned to you. You smiled a bit and poked his lower back near his grubscars, making him jump and turn around quickly. His look of surprise being replaced with a soft smile as he realized you were awake. "Thought you vwould sleep through the night lass."
He said with a chuckle, turning his body around completely and pulling you up and into his lap, causing you to giggle some, cuddling close to him and hugging. He tensed a little at first but then hugged back, feeling him purr as he pushed your head up, caressing your cheek with his thumb. He hugged you close and vibrated due to his purring, the room falling quiet as the ship swayed, his fingers running through your hair as your heart thumped quietly, the only thing it felt being warmth and love, almost as if it were visible, it would be glowing. You wrapped your legs around him and hugged him closer, he sighed as you opened your eyes slightly and looked up at him. His mauve eyes looking into yours, his face gradually drawing closer to yours, his breath gracing your lips as he then pressed his body against yours, the warmth making you shiver as you locked lips. His hands respectfully staying on your sides as he gradually deepened the kiss, both of your pulses starting to speed up, he slowly pushed you onto your back, one of his arms propping his torso up as you wrapped your arms around his neck. After a moment he pulled his head back a little, huffing as you both looked at each other for what seemed like forever. He rubbed your cheek with his free hand, speaking in a low voice. "Lass, i don't think we should go that far tonight, I don't want to be takin advantage of you." His hand goes down and very lightly caresses your thigh. You nod. "O-Okay" you reply, blushing immensely as he chuckles. "I could always help you in a different vway" his grip tightens just slightly as he leaned down beside your ear. "Only if you vwant me to though." His breath traveled down your neck, causing you to shiver and nod slightly, blushing still. "I-I would like that-" you replied nervously, shuffling some.
