"Where is my daughter and what did you do to her?" Shouted my mom as I was admiring myself in the mirror wearing my prom dress. It was in a beautiful shade of blue with loads of little sparkles on it to give it a starry effect.
"Mom! Jeez you scared me." I took a breath in, "How do I look?" I swirled around.
"Amazing. The sky would be jealous of you today." She kissed my forehead.
I laughed and went down to show the dress to dad.
He dramatically placed a hand over his mouth as he stopped midway while pouring juice in the glass.
"Holy mother of beauty. I knew my genes were good, but I did not know they were this good."
I lowered myself a little crossing one leg over the other, slightly raising my dress.
"I can't believe my baby girl's about to graduate from school." Said mom, the emotions evident on her face.
"Come on this is a happy moment." I half hugged her.
Dad clasped my shoulders, "you'll always be our baby girl. There is nothing I wouldn't do to keep you safe. But I cannot protect you forever. I can only be there when you fall and stand back up, cherish you while you reach for the stars." He then kissed my head.
"Thanks dad. You both are the most beautiful part of my life."
The door bell rang.
"Victor's here." I squealed, brushing my dress to make it look neat.
"I'll go check." Said dad.
Dad came back into the living room a moment later with Victor following close.
Victor froze the moment he saw me. With raised brows, he looked at me like I was the sun of his galaxy. And if I were to describe Victor in four words they'll be, his smile was beautiful. Like the kind that fills you up with so much warmth that it melts you.
"You look stunningly beautiful." He whispered.
"Thank you. You look very handsome too." I smiled.
And he did look good in that black shirt and blue coat of his.
"Okay picture time people." Said dad as he took out his old camera he wasn't ready to let go of.
Pictures were snapped, moments were saved.
With Linda constantly texting me, we got into Victor's car.
The prom had already begun when we got there. Everything matched so well with the theme. The roof was black with stars drawn on them. Many were of different sizes and shapes, swirling, twisting, and churning among st themselves. The night sky was such a welcoming sight. Everything seemed pure magic. The galaxy has always fascinated me, like it had so many secrets hidden in it. I've always wondered what's on the other side of the galaxy. But some secrets are meant to stay hidden I guess.
