Chapter 18 - Surprise

It had been a month, since I moved in with Steve.  Steve and I were so happy living together.  Steve would have to go to SHIELD every day.  While he was there, I would stay home and wait for him. However, sometimes I would go with him to SHIELD. 

I was sitting at home, waiting for Steve to come home.  I had been cleaning the apartment, and watching television, while I waited Steve.

A little bit later, Steve came home, and in through the front door.

"Hey my love" Steve greeted me.

"Hey my handsome" I greeted him.

Steve walked up to me, and kissed me.  He also picked me up, and spun me around in a circle.

"What did you do today?" Steve asked me. 

"I cleaned the apartment, and watched television" I said.

"That's cool.  I have some good news" Steve said.

"What's that?" I asked.

"Loki has been locked up, and he is under maximum security" Steve said.

"Oh, thank god" I said, in a happy tone.

I walked into the kitchen, and placed dinner in the over.

"What's for dinner, my love?" Steve asked.

"Baked pasta, with vegetables" I said.

"Sounds good to me, my love" Steve said.

Steve went to go take a shower.  I sat on the couch, since the dinner needed to cook for 45 mins.  I waited for Steve to come out of the shower.  It was always good to have him home. I continued to watch television, as the dinner cooked in the oven. Then, about 15 minutes later, Steve finished his shower, and came out of the bathroom. 

Steve came over to the couch, and sat down next to me.  He put his arm around me, and pulled me close to him.  We watched television together.

The timer on the oven went off, exactly 45 mins later. I stood up, and walked into the kitchen, pulling the dinner out of the oven.  Steve and I sat down at the table, and began to eat dinner together.

"This is very good, my love" Steve said.

"Thank you babe, I'm glad you like it" I said.

Steve and I finished dinner, shortly after.  I began to clean up the dishes.

"My love, come over here.  I want to talk to you"  Steve said. 

"What is it?" I asked.

Steve grabbed my hand, and we walked into the living room.

"What do you need to talk to me about?" I asked.

"Jessy, we have been together for a year.  I'm so happy to be with you" Steve said

"I'm so happy to be with you too" I said.

Steve pulled out a small black velvet box, from his pocket.  Inside the box, was a diamond ring.  Steve got down on one knee.  I was speechless.

"Jessy Stark, will you marry me?" Steve asked me.

"Yes, I will" I said.

Steve stood up, and picked me up off of my feet.  Steve and I kissed each other.

"I love you more than anything, Jessy" Steve said.

"I love you with all of my heart, Steve" I said.

Steve kissed me more.  Steve and I were now engaged, and we were so happy. That night, I called my parents and told them the big news.  My parents were super happy for me and Steve.  

A few days later, Steve and I started to plan the wedding.  We had sent out the invitations.  My parents, Phil Coulson, Nick Fury, and the Avengers were invited to the wedding. 

The wedding was approaching fast.  I had picked out my dress and Steve had picked out his tuxedo.  Steve and I were both ready to be married to each other.
