Time skip a decade~

Also still L's POV

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP~

I slammed my hand down on the off button and rolled over in bed. School was the worst. Especially since today is the first day.

Ugghhhhhh........

I sat up and yawned, running my fingers through my soft, black hair. First day of my Freshman year, I better make a good impression. I walked over to my closet and picked out my clothes. Obviously, it wasn't that hard because there's only one thing I ever wear(you all already know that tho 😋).

I walked down the stairs and inhaled the scent of fresh pancakes and sugary syrup. I sat at the table and started devouring it.

"Thanks Watari. You're the best." I managed to say through muffled mouthfuls of pancake.

I slung a backpack over my shoulder and pulled out my phone. I opened Messenger and texted Light.

L: u walking 2day bro?
Light: Ya man
L: kk ill meet u at ur house

I pocketed my phone and waved to Watari. I sprinted down the street to Light's house. Ever since that day on the playground, we have been best friends. One of the things we like to do is discuss what we want to be when we graduate. When we were little, I wanted to be a detective(still do too) and Light wanted to be a superhero. I had to spend many hours explaining to him that superheros aren't real. It was actually quite devastating.

Oh look, I'm here already. That was fast.

I stepped up to the door and pushed the doorbell. Inside, I could hear the ringing. Then came crashing as if someone tripped. A whole 60 seconds passed before the door opened. There stood Light in a white button-up shirt. Since he was a little boy, he sure has matured and earned the looks that will attract a hot girl. I was somewhat jealous.

"Let's go." I said, waving him along. It was a chilly autumn morning and the dim sky seemed to make the color-changing leaves illuminate. It was one if the most beautiful things I had ever seen.

We arrived at the front gate and we entered. The large metal gate swung open with ease, but the bars were cold and dry so it might have gone with ease..... But not silently. It sounded as if someone had screamed and we stood rock still for a minute before actually entering.

I checked my watch. 7:09AM. First period stars at 7:30. We had shown up 20 minutes early on purpose so we could find our classes. I looked at Light and he met my eyes. He nodded and we walked confidently together to the front door. Warm yellow ceiling lights glowed from the inside. We pushed the door open together and walked inside.

Let's do that time skip again, but for only 10 mins not 10 yrs~

Kids were starting to walk in, chatting in their groups of friends. I checked my watch again. 7:21.

All of a sudden, something catches my eye. I watch as a girl with [h/l], [h/c] hair walked past. She was in the middle of the crowd, but somehow walking alone. My eyes followed her until I noticed Light smirking out of the corner of my eye. I looked over at him and shoved him.

"Get that stupid smirk off your face." I scolded him.

He laughed and shoved me back.

"I see you eying that girl." He said mischievously, his brown eyes sparkling. "She's pretty, isn't she?" He said in a mocking voice. I kicked his shin.

Long story short, some bandages were needed.

Time skip~

I sat at my desk uncomfortably as the teacher droned on about geometric means. I had already completed my notes, so I was bored. Light had English first period, sadly. To my right sat that girl. I didn't even know her name, but I somehow felt connected to her. It was just a feeling I had.

Suddenly lost in thought, I was brought back to reality by a shuffling sound and then muffled voices. I looked over and the girl was now talking to a boy. He had long, silvery blond hair and he was tall and muscular. The average jock that every girl swooned over. I immediately hated him.

Heh what do we have here, a jelly L?

She stood up and quickly kissed his cheek. They talked for a minute, but I wasn't listening. I was thinking of how to get rid of this boy.

Reader-chan's POV~

I looked at Axel, his emerald eyes glittering with sandy flecks. His blond hair fell in front of his eyes and he brushed it back. We talked for a minute about a project we were working on together, then I kissed him and he walked away.

I sighed and sat back down. I noticed the boy to my left staring at me. He was wearing a plain white shirt and jeans and he had black hair that reminded me of a raven or some other bird. Just the way it spiked in the back......

No. You have a boyfriend.

I immediately squashed my feelings like a beetle. Axel was my soul mate. He was like a big, muscular wolf. He protected me from bullies. He was always kind to me and always put my needs above his own. He was completely loyal to me. Like a wolf. There was no way I'd ever trade him for anyone else.

I shot a glare at the boy next to me and he quickly looked away, his face flushing red. I laughed in my mind because I knew I humiliated him. I like being like that for some reason. I should really try to be a better person.

Okey back to L~

I looked away quickly, blood rushing to my face. I trained my eyes on a mark on my desk, avoiding eye contact with everything and everyone.

I sat like that for a full 4 minutes before the bell rang. It startled me because I wasn't expecting it. I quickly shoved everything in my backpack and hurried out the door, head down.

My next class was History with Light. At least he was in one of my classes.

Let's do it one more time!~

I checked my watch. 2:17PM. Just a few minutes until I can go home. I packed up my English things - notebooks, textbooks, pencils, erasers, you name it. Almost anything you could think of was required for English.

That girl was in my class again. This time, though, she was sitting all the way across the classroom. All the students crowded at the classroom door, earbuds in and chatting noisily. I checked the time again. 2:19. I stood up and started walking towards the doorway.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

The bell rung, and everyone pushed and shoved as they crowded out the door. I climbed the staircase and shaded my eyes as the sun glared down at everyone. Light waved madly from the flag pole and I ran down to him. We walked home, having small talk about today's events.

Whoooooo just one more time ~~

I lay in bed that night staring at my night light. I thought of that girl, and her beautiful [e/c] eyes. But the way she had looked at me.... It was as if she despised me from the chilling depths of the abyss of a heart she possessed. But before that, I had glimpsed something else in her eyes..... Was it... Admiration? They say the eyes are the window to the soul. In a sense, it's true. You can tell a lot about how someone feels just by looking at their eyes.

But, people don't do it much because staring into someone's eyes is considered rude, awkward, and weird, among other things.

I got so lost in thought I lost track of time as well. I rolled over and checked my clock. 12:13 AM. I rolled back and sighed. Suddenly I heard a scream outside, but it didn't last long. It was is if it had been muffled by something.

Oooooooooooooooo the suspense~

It must be killing you. Well, get reading! Why are you still here? Go! Go! Read the next chapter!~
