Chapter 1- Can't Sleep

Joey's POV

I looked up at Shane. He was asleep. I was laying on his chest. I couldn't sleep. I've been so nervous ever since we got back from vacation.

I'm afraid Luke will attack us. I know Shane promised to protect me but I'm still scared.

I turned over and looked around the room. I'm in Shane's bedroom in his house. I'm still not used to his room.

I turn back over and rest my head in his chest again.

Shane: Babe...

Joey: Did I wake you?

Shane: Yeah. Don't worry. What's wrong?

Joey: I'm still scared...

Shane: Joey... Nothing is gonna happen.

Joey: I know but Luke really messed with my head.

Shane: No. Your head is perfect. Like the rest of you.

He kissed my cheek. I blushed. He gently stroked my arm.

Shane: Don't let Luke get inside your head. He's a jealous bitch who doesn't deserve anyone. There's no way I'd ever go back to him after what he's done.

Joey: I'm trying. But I feel like he's planning something. He doesn't stay quiet for a while for no reason.

Shane: If he even comes near you I will call the cops.

Joey: But what if-

Shane: Come on babe. Let's talk about something else.

Joey: When does touring start?

Shane: In a week.

Joey: I guess I'll have to get used to touring with you.

Shane: Hey do you and Brittany wanna come with me to the recording studio tomorrow?

Joey: Ooh! Are you recording a new song?

Shane: Maybe... But it's a secret.

Joey: Aww come on.

Shane: I won't tell you. But if you and Brittany promise not to break anything you can explore the building.

Joey: Really?! Yay!

Shane: Well we should probably get some sleep first.

Joey: Fine.

Shane: I promise nothing bad will happen.

He kisses me again. I settle back onto his chest. I wrap my arms around his waist. He starts humming. I close my eyes as listen. Soon enough, I fall asleep.

Shane's POV

Joey was still asleep on my chest. I carefully got out of his arms and snuck out of the room.

I walked downstairs to the kitchen. I saw my mom awake. I smiled at her and began to make breakfast for Joey and me.

Once I finished I heard his footsteps behind me. I laughed at his messed up hair. He kissed me.

Shane: Good morning baby. I made breakfast.

Joey: Thank you.

He grabbed his food and kissed me again. He sat at the table. I joined him.

And since he was sitting next to me, he started to lean on me. He liked to do that randomly.

Shane: Did you remember to invite Brittany?

Joey: Damn it! I'll be right back.

He got up and ran upstairs to grab his phone. He came back down with his phone in his hands. He sat down and was still texting Brittany.

Joey: Ok. Brittany says she ready to explore.

Shane: Don't break anything. You don't have any money and I don't want to pay for it.

He giggled. I playfully glared at him.

Shane: I mean it.

Joey: Fine. We'll be good.

Wow I sounded like a parent. Geez. I'm only 20.

After breakfast Joey and I drove to Brittany's apartment. We picked her up and met up with Lisa at the studio.

Shane: Well I have to go. Secret project time.

Joey: Aww come on. It's a whole project now?

Shane: Maybe. Have fun.

Lisa and I made it to a recording studio. I had written a very special song for Joey. He just couldn't know about it yet.
