I pull the covers off of my still body, and look at the clock. It's already noon.

I brush my teeth and walk down the winding stair case, to look for Annie. I find her sitting on the sofa that sits in front of her parents' flat screen TV that pretty much covers the wall, eating a bowl of cereal. Annie turns around as I walk through the doorway that connects the hallway to the living area. "Hey Mads," she greets me.

"Morning," I say back while helping myself to some cereal in the kitchen.

After poring milk into my bowl of coco pebbles and grabbing a spoon, I walk to the island and sit myself down on a bar stool. "When do you think I should talk to Harry?" I blurt out without really thinking. I wait for Annie to respond, and continue to eat my cereal.

"Well he could come over if you want? I just have to text him and he'd be here in 5 minutes." She says while reaching over the coffee table to grab her phone.

"I don't want to see him today. Or tomorrow. It's okay never mind," I say while shoving another spoonful of chocolaty goodness into my mouth. "I really don't want to think about this thing right now I'm still kind of pissed off."

"Madelyn, you can't run away from your problems. Besides, he already said he'd be here in like 5 minu-" but before she could finish her sentence, the front door opens. After a few footsteps, a very exhausted and physically drained looking Harry appears in the doorway of the living room. "Or in 5 seconds." Annie finishes her interrupted sentence and looks towards me and stands from the sofa, walking to the kitchen. I look at Harry and take in how amazing he looks, even when he looks like he hasn't slept all night, and is wearing the same boots, and jeans he's been wearing for the past two days.

"Good morning," he says while walking into the kitchen to sit on the bar stool next to me.

"What's new with the crew?" Annie asks him while putting the dishes in the sink.

"Nothing really," he replies while folding his hands on top of the counter in front of him. Annie looks over at me as if to say something and I stand up and walk out of the kitchen to the

stairs to go up to my room, eat my breakfast, and drown in my self pity.

Harry's POV

I sit down next to Madelyn in the kitchen and look at Annie.

"What's new with the crew?" She asks me.

"Nothing really," I say. Madelyn gets up from her seat and walks out of the kitchen. I turn to watch her, and I hear a door slam shut. When I turn on my stool, Annie is staring at me with her signature death glare. "What?"

"Are you fucking kidding me Harry?! You can't just tell her 'I love you, please come back to me' and expect her to be happy and live happily ever after with you! It doesn't work like that!" Annie screams. Her attempt at mimicking me was pretty far fetched. I'm pretty sure I don't sound like a drunken 300 pound man.

"I didn't know what to say, Annie! I panicked, she wasn't saying anything back! It kind of just came out,"

"'Just came out'?!" She exclaims. "Harry, she hates us both right now. She's not taking any of this very lightly. She barely believed me last night and all I told her was that you were the one that was going to tell her the real accident." Annie walks around the island and sits down in the stool Madelyn was in before she stormed off. She sighs in frustration and let's her head drop into her hands.

"So what were we supposed to do then?" I ask, turning to Annie.

"Go talk to her. Even if she doesn't want to listen, one of us needs to do it, and I think it should be you." Annie looks up at me and I turn and walk out of the kitchen. I'm met with the stairs, and I make my way to Annie's room.
