Chapter 2

"Crystal, come up here right now!" Alpha Matthews shouted

Alright whatever.

I ran up to the Alphas office and knocked

"Come in" He said
"Yes Alpha?" I asked opening the door. His facial expression suddenly changed

"I got another complain from your mom. She told me to punish you for not making lunch for the pack" Alpha Matthews said looking up at me. He took off the glasses he was wearing and leaned on his chair. I'll admit, he looked good.

"I apologize Alpha. I was doing homework for the pack and I didn't took track of time" I said looking down.

He stood up from his chair and walked towards me.

"You've been doing this all the goddamn time and you're telling me that you didn't took track of time?What a pathetic excuse, Moon." He said and rolled his eyes. I felt a little bit of tingles when he said my last name but I just brushed it off. He doesn't actually beat me up or abuse me in any way. He knows about them insulting me. He sometimes even joins his beta with the insults but not the physical abuse, he doesn't know about that. He is usually a close minded Alpha. He doesn't like to communicate with anyone and when he does, he speaks to them with no emotion. But when he does speak to someone with an emotion, it's usually anger. I'm actually a little scared of him cause even though he doesn't hurt me in any way, he still threatens to. And the way he talks gives me the heeby jeebies.

But suddenly, for the first time in my whole life, I had the courage to talk back at him today.

"Don't you understand what I just said? Do you really expect me to finish 100 homeworks easily?! Sorry to break it to you Matthews but I'm not a vampire to have super speed to finish all that shit that quick." I replied with sass and smirked after he raised his brows at me. I was about to turn around and walk out the room when I heard him say "Not so fast Crystal" then he grabbed my waist and pulled me back.

I gasped and whimpered 'cause of where he grabbed me. There was a bruise there that didn't heal yet.

He noticed my whimper and he immediately let go of me. He looked at me confused and concerned, he held the hem of my shirt softly about to lift it up to check what's wrong. He stopped and looked at me for a second "May I?" He whispered, I nodded slowly. He slowly lifted my shirt, while I just watched him as he observed my bruises. He let go of my shirt and looked at me in the eye.

His eyes showed a lot of emotions. One that no one in the pack probably ever saw before.

I was about to speak when he cut me off.

"It was the pack, wasn't it?" He looked at my eyes filled with many emotions I can't exactly point out, I've never seen him like this before.

"Crystal?" He whispered "Did our pack members do this to you?" He repeated, I just nodded and hugged myself kind of embarassed to let him see me like this.

"I-I didn't know it was this bad. I thought they would just insult you and pick on you but I didn't know they would beat you up. I'm sorry for not doing something. I didn't know that one of my pack members was actually getting abused." He apologized

"Look Alpha-"
"Call me Ace. Please" He said
"Okay..Look Ace, you don't have to apologize. You didn't know." I smiled at him trying to convince him that it's alright even though it's definitely not

"I didn't know...but I should've known. And I insulted you too. I'm really sorry for everything I did Crystal. I promise I'll make it up to you as your Alpha. I'll protect you" He said and cupped my cheek. I stared at him for awhile and hugged him. He just stood there shocked but after a while, he hugged me back. This was weird but I like it.
