Learning to love him (NaLu)

Ch 21

(Natsu POV)

I decided to take Lucy out to a popular coffee shop not too far from our apartment to take our minds off the fight we just had. It's about 7:00 at night right now.

Anyway, right now we're walking side by side on the sidewalk holding hands on our way there. We walked in complete silence-the comfortable kind.

The air was warm and the stars were starting to show in the clear sky. It couldn't be any more perfect.

"So uh, where are we going?" Lucy asked, breaking the silence.

Yeah, I haven't told her where I was taking her. I wanted it to be a surprise.

"Ha, you'll find out when we get there, and after that there's another place I want to take you." I replied before bringing our intertwined hands up to my lips and kissing the back of her small pale hand.

She giggled cutely and continued walking.

She was wearing a large red sweater and a small black skirt with some long black stockings that reached mid thigh. She was wearing a pair of small black ankle boots and she had her hair tied in a high side ponytail with a black ribbon to match along with her glasses.

To sum it all up-she looked adorable.

I on the other hand, was wearing my usual black leather jacket with dark coloured ripped jeans, my white scarf, and brown leather boots.

"Oh! I know this place!" Lucy Exclaimed excitedly, "Erza told me they made really good cake."

"Great, I guess I know what you're ordering for food then!" I said smiling.

I held the door open for her as we walked inside. As soon as we stepped in, the smell of coffee hit our noses.

It looked pretty original I guess. It had about seven tables, one large window that shows the busy street, a dark brown wooden floor and beige coloured walls with a few picture frames hanging.

"Let's sit by the window." Lucy said bringing me by the hand to the table by the window.

We sat down and looked through the menus-deciding what we should order.

"Hello there, are you two ready to order?" A waitress asked a few minutes later.

"Yeah, She'll have a slice of strawberry cake and a cup of hot chocolate, and I'll take a cup of coffee along with a blue berry muffin. Thanks." I replied.

"Alrighty, coming right up!" She said cheerfully.

"Um, Natsu?" I heard Lucy ask.

"Yeah?"

"I'm still sorry, I feel terrible." She said looking down at her hands on her lap.

"Hey, don't worry about it. I honestly shouldn't have yelled at you like that. I'm sorry." I replied remembering how I lashed out at her and made her cry. I honestly will never forgive myself for the things I've done to her. I don't deserve someone as special as her.

"I love you." She said sincerely looking me in the eyes.

"I love you too Luce." I said holding her hands in mine on the table, smiling.
